Deadpool and WolverineThe first trailer debuted at Super Bowl LVIII on Sunday with our first look at Wade Wilson’s journey to becoming an official member of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But one thing about the trailer for Deadpool and Wolverine was confusing at first: Wasn’t Deadpool’s fiancée Vanessa killed in the last? This was an important plot point. And wasn’t X-Force member Shatterstar killed too? And yes, Peter died too!
Yes, they were all killed Deadpool 2. And unless you remember the details of Deadpool 2
At the end of Deadpool 2Negasonic Teenage Warhead and Yukio – returning Deadpool and Wolverine – Repair the time travel device that Cable used to travel back in time in search of Firefist/Russell (Julian Dennison). Wade then uses Cable’s time machine to intervene in the film’s earlier events, preventing Vanessa’s death and ensuring that Peter (Rob Delaney’s character) survives X-Force’s gruesome debut. Remember, almost every member of Deadpool’s X-Force team died after jumping out of a plane. Shatterstar (Lewis Tan) was mashed by a helicopter and Peter was killed by being covered in Zeitgeist’s (Bill Skarsgård) acidic spit.
Apparently Wade saved more than just Vanessa and Peter. Maybe X-Force is just f ine? We’re keeping our fingers crossed for Terry Crews’ “Bedlam”!
Wade not only saves his deceased loved ones, but also carries out two mercy killings Deadpool 2‘s Mid-Credits: Filming the original Deadpool by X-Men Origins: Wolverine in mind and does the same service to Mint Mobile voice actor Ryan Reynolds shortly after reading the script Green Lantern. These are less plot-relevant than funny parts.
Wade’s time travel explains why the TVA is after Deadpool in his new film. He messed up the schedule and will apparently spend some of it Deadpool and Wolverine Clean up villain timelines or just hang out in the void Lokimeets old X friends and avoids the purple gas cloud of death, Alioth.
Deadpool and Wolverine hits theaters on July 26th. There is enough time to find out about Disney Plus series Loki if not, because that sounds pretty damn important to Deadpool’s future.
