Fate 2The PvP community has been in turmoil for months. Between rampant cheating in the game mode “Trials of Osiris” and theirs Frustration with the lack of new cards, Players focused on the Crucible have felt ignored for some time. But before bungies determination 2 Showcase on August 24th – which will show season 15 and the next year witch Queen Expansion – Assistant Game Director Joe Blackburn went to Twitter to announce some planned PvP improvements.
Initially, Blackburn announced that Trials of Osiris is undergoing a makeover in season 15, which begins later this month. He didn’t go into detail about what this revision will improve, but promised that players will receive more information in the showcase on August 24th. Blackburn doesn’t mention anti-cheat anywhere in his thread, so it’s unclear whether the cheating issue will play into the company’s upcoming announcement.
According to Blackburn, Bungie has spent the past year building its team to create more Destiny, and PvP players should see the fruits of their labor by 2022. Ideally for Blackburn, PvP players should be able to predict when the next new map or mode will come into play rather than counting the days since the last new addition. Next year there will be new and returning maps and modes that will bring the Crucible back to life.
When we upgraded our engine with Beyond Light, we had to hand port all of our Destiny 2 maps and modes. Even if it might seem like we’re just pushing a button from the outside, there’s a significant boost from the team to get more of this content back into rotation.

In an effort to get their hands on new toys quickly, Bungie will be picking up two Crucible cards in Season 16. These are cards that were in last year. Have disappeared Destiny 2: Beyond Light,
The following season, season 17, it will Fate 2‘s first new card in years. Blackburn hinted that it will take place in one of Destiny’s new locations, suggesting that either Europe will be out Beyond the light or whatever the new location is for Witch queen – probably Old Chicago. Season 18 will feature a revised map of the original determination, but one who never made it Fate 2
In addition to maps, the Crucible team is also investigating Rift – the original determination‘s beloved Capture the Flag mode. Due to the new tempo of Fate 2, it is unclear whether Rift will actually translate one-to-one from the original game, so Blackburn cannot guarantee his return to the series. That Fate 2 The Crucible team is also working on other new modes outside of Rift, but Blackburn doesn’t want to reveal any details just yet.
Blackburn kept track of his collection of PvP tweets with a short tweet about Gambit. The team will start work on new maps shortly, but the current focus is on testing some major changes before Season 16.
Most of those changes are pretty far away, and players will have to wait months – probably until Witch queen Expansion next year – to see different cards in the Crucible rotation. but PvP players seem satisfied that Bungie even acknowledges their existence. With the presentation later this month and a revision of Trials of Osiris next season, all kinds of Fate 2 Players should have hope for the future.
