Fate 2‘s Season of the Splicer has already had its ups and downs, with a new transmog system that players despise and a beautiful new social space to explore. Like Season of the Chosen, Splicer is also rising fate 2‘s storytelling game with fascinating character developments and stylish cutscenes.

An unreleased cutscene that appears later this season offers a new perspective on a famous Guardian’s legacy, adding a more vicious twist to her exploits from the perspective of the fallen. Thanks to fate 2dedicated data mining communityThis cutscene can already be seen in the wild on YouTube and is one of the best films in the series.

[Note: This post contains spoilers for Season of the Splicer. While the video below doesn’t directly spoil any events coming in the next few weeks, the cutscene isn’t viewable in-game yet. There could be some context that comes before this cutscene that we don’t know about.]

The Eliksni – better known to the Guardians as the Fallen – took refuge in the final city during the season of the splicer. Mithrax, friend of the Guardians and Kell (leader) of the House of Light, is the players’ main ally thanks to the new override activity. But in an upcoming cutscene, Mithrax will reformulate the heroism of one of the Guardians’ favorite allies: Saint-14.

Saint-14 is one of the oldest guardians in Fate. Before players rescued him from a doomed timeline in Season of the Dawn, Saint was a legend for players first loved for his exotic helmet in the original fate:: the helmet of Saint-14. In the original fateSaint-14’s helmet has a massive dent on the side. This came from Saint-14, who knocked a fallen Kell on the head so hard that the Kell died.

As guardians, players consider Saint to be a protector. The original Defender Titan, Saint-14 is known for his ability to protect the people around him and create a safer world for humanity.

But the fallen see him differently. The cutscene below hosted by YouTuber Montevenis Mithrax’s perspective on “The Saint”, a murderer who destroys his people with impunity.

The video above doesn’t necessarily give players any new information about Saint-14. The guards knew that, like the headbutt incident, he had broken several large fallen houses to protect the city. But this clip gives a different, more critical perspective on Saint. It is the difference between saying “Anakin Skywalker cleared a Tusken Raiders camp to save his mother” and “Anakin Skywalker murdered innocent Tusken Raiders, including women and children”.

The cutscene is in a similar style to Zavala’s walk through the tower garden in the season of the elect, and it shows some of the softer features of the saint as monstrous. A lore page from Season of Dawn revealed this The purple ribbons that Saint-14 wears on his armor are awards from those he saved – he is their protector. In the clip, however, these bands appear more like tendrils. It plays with perspective and makes our hero their villain.

The hatred of the fallen on Saint-14 is clear. He’s their boogeyman, just like some of Destiny’s biggest villains, like Oryx, were for gamers. In the Fallen Refugee Camp, players can even see a symbol on the wall trying to repel guards. The video makes it clear that the legendary helmet of Saint-14 inspired the station – the fallen used their greatest fear as a scarecrow for other light bearers.

But the clip does a preview of some upcoming story beats based on the prospect of peace rather than hate. Mithrax mentions that now that the House of Light is in town, they see “The Saint” every day. But Mithrax and his people are ready to live next to their monsters as long as humans are willing to live next to them.

The Details on the story of Season of the Splicer are out there for those who want to see how the Fallen and their hosts get along, but we’ll leave that up to the players to discover. We’re not sure when this in-game cutscene will appear, but it is clear that the Fallen are ready to work together to save the city. Guardians and their allies may not be that ready.
