How many others Fate 2 Players, I’ve been slowly getting into it The final formpost-campaign offerings, especially as I prepare to tackle the expansion’s particularly challenging raid. Unsurprisingly, many of these quests, which involve acquiring rare and powerful armor and weapons, are among the very best things to do in The final formcontinuing Bungie’s tradition of having strong endings in its expansions. The final form has many pleasant surprises, but one of them, Dual Destiny, caused controversy among players this week.
Dual Destiny is the latest exotic mission that Fate 2and it is one of the most unique. Exotic missions have come and gone with much acclaim, such as The Whisper and Zero Hour (which Into the lightT a few months ago), but Dual Destiny is the first game to offer a real gimmick beyond a timer and some light puzzles. Dual Destiny can only be completed by two players, requires them to wear specific subclasses – one dark, one light – and requires a certain level of communication. The reward at the end is quite significant: an exotic class item that provides several benefits, including those previously accessible via class-specific gear, meaning Classes can now share skills
That’s a pretty game-changing incentive to complete what seems like a nice but easily overlooked mission, and players are a little incensed by the requirements needed to acquire such a transformative piece of gear. Fans of Fate 2 have been upset about secret exotic missions like this before, because of their difficulty or their time limit, but the annoyance surrounding Dual Destiny is quite different. There is a guaranteed way to make the mission appear, meaning you can only miss it if you don’t commit to the process. At this point, you should know what you’re getting into. People who play Fate 2 I just don’t want to have to do this mission with another player to get the exotic class item, and they have very loud about it.
I understand completely annoyed Solo player. I’ve played determination since the game was released, and I have played it mostly alone. I have never had a determination static (a reliable group of people to play with) and probably won’t be for a while. There are six-player raids and three-player dungeons. Despite it and yes, I am occasionally annoyed that I was unable to experience some of the game’s best content because I didn’t have a fireteam. Even now, I’m not thrilled that such a crucial element is locked behind a quest that I have to find someone to complete, but believe it or not, folks, that’s not Bungie’s problem. It’s mine or yours.
determination has always been a multiplayer game. Even though large parts of it can be completed alone, it is still a challenge for the developer of a Multiplayer titles to create content specifically for audiences that want to engage with it in that way. I don’t think the game needs to be tailored to an audience that wants to make it into something it’s not.
Not to mention, determinationand its community have largely avoided the problem at the heart of this situation. There are numerous forums and Discords where people can meet other players to play with them. Over the years, I have determination
As someone who is afraid to play with literally anyone other than the friends I’ve played with for years, I understand that using these systems can be very challenging for some people. I sympathize with the person who has concerns and doubts about entering this world, but I also won’t allow it to remain closed off. Nor will I join the chorus of players demanding that missions like Dual Destiny never be done at all because they go against what they believe should be allowed.
determination has always excelled when it has challenged itself and the people who play it. Without the kind of experimentation seen in Dual Destiny, we wouldn’t have much of its best content, which includes the numerous secret exotic missions over the years, every raid, and the game’s dungeons, which are my personal favorites. We wouldn’t have all the community-based ARGs that the determination
Inevitably, Bungie will introduce an alternative way to obtain the exotic class items that is not tied to Dual Destiny. This was never the only method of getting them, it was just an interesting and novel way of doing things while testing the functionality of Bungie’s new services and the community’s willingness. It was encouraging to see people trying it out despite their problems and disabilities, such as some Guardians who either mute or deaf. Although the determination Community can be just as toxic as any other. Many offer to take players who are reluctant to communicate or who simply don’t feel comfortable with the more complex mechanics of the encounter. This is a reminder that these community experiences Are it’s worth being part of these games.
I hope Bungie takes this to heart. I’m sure there are legitimate criticisms of Dual Destiny, but its existence is actually one of the best things about games like Fate 2. It’s hardly a problem that needs to be fixed. It’s more of a promise of what the game can look like when he and his team are running at full speed and can still create new experiences for this community even after all these years.
