Big changes are ahead destiny 2 this year and some of them leaked earlier this month. Bungie now believes it knows who is responsible and has taken action by banning popular Twitch streamer Ekuegan Teko-Agbo from the game, which he plays for a living. However, the content creator says he’s innocent, and no one’s quite sure what to make of the entire episode.
From time to time, Bungie holds secret meetings with star players and content creators from around the world destiny 2 community to preview upcoming changes and get feedback on the state of the game and its future. These summits are invitation-only and heavily NDA-protected, but that hasn’t stopped apparent screenshots of a PowerPoint presentation from the last one being leaked on April 5th by a user named Freezing Dart on Discord. The slideshow revealed what appeared to be upcoming changes to content, weapons, and gameplay. A week later, Bungie took the unprecedented step of publicly admitting the leak.
“Community interaction and engagement is central to Bungie and our games,” it tweeted on April 14th. “For years we have invited developers and other community members to confidential meetings to provide feedback on the future of determination. This is a popular part of the process, but relies heavily on trust.”
The studio continued:
A breach of that trust could result in our not being able to hold more summits. We take these violations very seriously and are taking steps to strengthen our policies towards those invited to these internal meetings.
It didn’t mention Ekuegan by name, but the streamer later confirmed that Bungie pinned him as the source of the leak an interview with forbesPaul Tassi. The veteran gamer, known in the community for his skills and achievements in the game, said he would stop playing it after the ban and went on to delete some VODs of the past destiny 2 streams. Despite this, he says he is innocent and has no knowledge of the leak, despite practically attending the summit in question.
What Ekuegan apparently fingered as a leaker are desktop icons in the leaked computer screenshots that match his own. He told Tassi that this was the explanation Bungie gave him, and he even suggested that he might have been framed. “I’m on so many NDAs [at the moment], why should I hurt any? It’s part of the job,” Ekuegan told Tassi. “I’ve spent 14,000 hours on this game, several hours helping people at Grandmasters.”
One possibility is that the leaks were expertly photoshopped to incriminate Ekuegan, despite coming from someone else. Another possibility is that someone else used their computer to produce the leak. That’s Tassi’s theoryand it would improve people’s perception of Ekuegan as an honest and devoted figure destiny 2 Community with all the evidence Bungie has. It would still be a violation of his NDA, but it would make more sense as Ekuegan to potentially blow up his career to temporarily and secretly impress a small Discord channel.
Ekuegan did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

It’s not clear when or if answers will come. Bungie didn’t work past its first two tweets and didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
Meanwhile, Ekuegan is still streaming other games and said he is work to clear his name. “I’ve come to a point where I’m happy with who I am in life.” he tweeted. “I personally know the truth, I know who I am and I’m glad to know it. Only God can Judge Me.”
