Bungie confirmed in its February 1 report: “This week in fate” newsletter that the four-year partnership with Prime Gaming is finally coming to an end. Since January 2020, Bungie has been releasing a monthly pack of free shaders, sparrows, emotes, and other cosmetics that Amazon Prime members can redeem for free. The 49th and final exotic Prime Gaming package will include a time-limited exclusive shader and will be available until March 7th. So be sure to log in and claim your rewards before they disappear for good.

While it’s unfortunate that Bungie is closing this loot tap, players will still receive some benefits. Starting March 5, players can log in and head to the Eververse Store to receive a free pack of 700 free Bright Dusts every week until the next game releases Destiny 2 Extension, The final formon June 4th. In addition to the free in-game currency, players can also claim a free bundle of it Mass effect-Themed cosmetics promoting Bungie’s latest studio collaboration with Bioware. The pack includes the Enhanced Defense Ghost Shell, Alliance Drop Ship Sparrow and Alliance Scout Frigate Ship, available to all players for free. Bungie hasn’t specified how long this particular perk lasts. So you should sign up as soon as possible if you are looking for free cosmetics.

Personally, I’m not the type of person to turn down free stuff, especially in a game with such an extensive catalog of microtransactions. However, it’s impossible to ignore that Destiny 2 is struggling to maintain its dwindling player base. While a daily Steam player count of 45,000 isn’t anything to sneeze at, considering Destiny 2 boasted about triple that number a year ago, it’s hard not to see these free incentives as a way to stop the bleeding.
