Fate 2The new stasis sub-class is the star of the show for Beyond the light, the expansion to the 2020 franchise. Stasis is the first of the game’s new Darkness classes – and more likely in upcoming expansions. Witch queen and Light fall. According to Bungie, there will be more changes to stasis in the fourth year.
Since stasis comes from the dark, it works a little differently than the Solar, Arc, and Void subclasses that players have known since Bungie launched fate Game in 2014. One of the ways differences manifest is through the stasis adjustment system. It is different from the “light” supers, which are strictly binary options that ask players to choose one of three branches in each superbree. Stasis is completely modular, so players can choose different powers to suit their Darkness subclass.
In an interview with Polygon last week we asked fate 2Luke Smith’s Game Director on Darkness Cus tomization. “We are very excited about the new system,” he said. Since the Stasis Super System is kind of a journey into the realm of adaptation, Bungie seems to believe it was successful – and we agree.
Each Darkness sub-class includes a new super and some unlockable grenade options. Then players can add up to two powerful aspects to their characters that give their stasis skills new advantages. For example, warlocks can choose an aspect that allows them to freeze nearby enemies when casting Rift, while titans can choose to smash nearby enemies when they slide. Players can then insert less powerful fragments into these aspects and offer minor additions like damage buff if the player freezes an enemy.
Currently, each class has two aspects – enough to fill both slots and that’s it. Players can also earn around six fragments that they can swap out at will. Currently, stasis is pretty static, with fragments being the only differentiator between players. But not for long. “Our intention is to add more,” said Smith. See you next autumn Witch queen
In our conversation with Smith he made it clear that the new system is not only intended to differentiate between the future subclasses light and dark. The goal was to give players more customization options. Smith quoted a colleague, Kevin Yanes, who called the new subclass system “diet materia out” Final Fantasy 7. ”
Right now, players don’t quite have this level of customization. In the next few seasons, however, stasis should be expanded to include new aspects and fragments, so that each player can have a more unique stasis configuration.
