Adi Shankar, producer at Netflix Excellent Castlevania series, sat down with IGN Japan to discuss one of his next projects, an animated adaptation of Capcom’s action-packed Devil May Cry Franchise. Unfortunately, Chris Pratt doesn’t seem to have a place in the cast.

“I can confirm that Virgil is there, Lady and of course Dante,” revealed Shankar before jokingly added: “I can also confirm that Chris Pratt will not comment on any of the characters.”

Pratt first attracted attention when he portrayed the lovable doofus Andy Dwyer on the NBC sitcom Parks and recreation before playing the role of Guardian of the Galaxy Hero Peter “Star-Lord” Quill in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and becomes a megastar in the process. More recently, Pratt has drawn attention when it was revealed that he will be playing both of them Mario and Garfield in upcoming films based on each trait that has put him on the spotlight on any social media over the past week most popular memes.

While some may joke that these two iconic roles assigned to an American actor are italophobia (Garfield’s love of lasagna makes him an adopted son of the boot), others say they have reasons to be careful about Pratt’s involvement. Despite his protests to the contrary, Pratt did belongs to a church with connections to a notoriously anti-LGBTQ + organization, for starters, and once described Hollywood as not make enough space for stories about white men what, lol my guy. It’s also perfectly right to get tired of seeing your face all over the place.

Definitely sounds like the Devil May Cry Series runs smoothly, no matter how little Pratt it may be.

“The whole [Capcom] Team, both management and creative, have been so incredibly supportive and gracious, ”said Shankar IGN Japan. “[Devil May Cry producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi] has been wonderful. It is really a pleasure to work with Capcom. “

Devil May Cry will be eight episodes, but Shankar’s story treatment will span multiple seasons. Apart from the involvement of important characters such as Dante, Virgil and Lady, little is known about specific plot details. A release date is also still pending, but since Shankar only mentioned that the scripts are ready by then, it may be some time before we hear more about it.

Other video game-related projects in Shankar’s Horizon include animated adaptations of Assassin’s Creed, PlayerUnknown’s battlefields, Hyper light drifters, and Far Cry 3 Spin-off expansion Blood dragonwhich also means that Chris Pratt has a few more opportunities to get on the good side of the producer.
