When you’ve murdered your way through dungeons Diablo IV Lately you’ve probably killed a lot of monsters, found a lot of loot, and also ended up with half a dozen (or more) gems in your inventory, taking up space that weapons and armor could take up. This can be annoying and some players have asked for a Gem Bag. While that’s not the case, Blizzard understands the frustration and confirms that a change is coming in the future.
released earlier this monthDiablo IV is the latest action role-playing game in Blizzard’s l ong-running demon looting series. I wish the game had an extra skill slot
In Blizzard’s first Diablo IV campfire chat– a video series where developers talk about upcoming updates and answer questions from the community – Game Director Joe Shely confirmed that the team is aware of the gem issue and has a solution on the way. But it’s not just a simple gem bag or gem tab.
“The idea is to change the way you acquire gems so that they show up in your material or currency tab and not in your inventory,” Shely explained. “And then that’s going to work so that you craft your gem the same way you do today and just use a certain amount of that material, similar to the amount of corresponding, actual gem inventory slot you have.” Use now, though as materials.
When will Blizzard change how Gems work? Diablo IV?
This should mean your inventory doesn’t replenish with unused gems after each dungeon, as these live on alongside your other crafting materials. (This is actually how it should have worked…)
Don’t expect this change to happen too soon, however, as Shely was aware that this is something that won’t be added to the game until “around Season 2.” With seasons in Diablo IV Duration about three months and the first starts sometime in July, it is likely that this jewel change will not happen until October or even early November. Still, it’s nice to hear that something is being done.
It was also confirmed during the livestream that crafting resource caps will be increased, which should help people stockpile more gems when the change to how they are stored goes into effect in a few months . In the meantime, I’ll just keep tossing them in my stash.
