Diablo 4’s ultimate abilities require their own skill slot

Diablo IV is a very good video game. It offers everything I want from a good product Diablo Game including tons of loot, thousands of monsters to kill, even more loot, big dungeons to explore, cool skills to unlock and of course tons more loot. But it also feels like something’s missing: a dedicated slot for your ultimate ability.

released earlier this month, Diablo IV is Blizzard’s latest entry in its long-running action-RPG franchise about humans slaying demons and picking up loads of swords. This latest entry has received very good reviews, and both gamers and critics couldn’t stop themselves from sinking into the dark world of for dozens of hours Diablo. (For some reason they keep all of them too name themselves variations of rubbish and rubbish.) Anyway, my villain named Lethal Trash really needs an ultimate slot, Blizzard.

When I finally leveled up my rogue to the point of picking an ultimate recently, I assumed it would be mapped to a specific slot. In games like determination or over watch (another Blizzard game) Often tied to a combination of button presses, your strongest abilities feel different and more powerful than your other abilities and attacks. But as the headline suggested, that’s not the case Diablo IV. Instead, ultimate abilities live alongside your other, more basic abilities and attacks, taking a place among them. It’s annoying and makes no sense.

you see in Diablo IV, ultimate abilities don’t work like other powers. You can only choose one from the ultimate skill tree. They tend to have longer cooldowns, but are also more powerful. It makes them feel special and different. But in the UI, these powerful and unique abilities reside in the same action bar slots as your basic attacks. It is strange!

The community also seems to want an ultimate slot

It also means that you feel like you’re giving up a slot – that you only have six of and can’t get any more of – and I don’t like that either. I’m not the only one with this feeling! When I look online, I see Other players are also complaining about this odd design choice. You can even find players who I pointed this out during the beta, calls it illogical or frustrating. On the official Reddit and Blizzard forums Players keep pointing out the lack of a dedicated ult slot as a complaint and wondering why it works the way it does and if Blizzard would ever be willing to change it.

Some fans suggest that there shouldn’t be a dedicated slot since builds don’t always require ultimate abilities. I just don’t agree. No one wants any of the six slots that already exist to become a less useful ult slot. Instead, in a perfect world, Blizzard would add a new slot dedicated solely to these powerful but lesser-used abilities. A new theoretical seventh slot, possibly activated by clicking both sticks or pressing L1/R1 at the same time, wouldn’t ruin non-ult builds And would allow anyone to freely play around with ultimate skills without Sophie having to choose a magic attack or sprint ability.

Finally (get it…) Diablo IV is absolutely gorgeous and playable with only six slots, although you have to burn one by equipping an ultimate. But I think a dedicated slot for these powerful attacks would give people a bit more flexibility with builds and help make these cool abilities feel even more formidable and deadly.
