Battlefield 2042 develops into one broken mess of a game, one that could probably have benefited from another month – or year – in development. Even so, it’s officially available on most major platforms and players are once again having a lot of fun with aspects the designers never intended. This time instead of spectacular broken vehicles It’s the source of fun, it’s broken level geometry as players have discovered that some build ing walls have no collision at all, which allows them to perform sneaky gimmicks like hiding helicopters in places they have no access to at all should be able to.
First discovered by VG24 / 7, Reddit users Darktoothone shared a clip showing the problem. While playing on Hourglass, one of Battlefield 2042With the latest maps based in Doha, Qatar and lined with glass skyscrapers, the Redditor controls his helicopter right through the walls of a large building. Unfortunately, it quickly becomes clear that he is not the only one who had the idea of hiding in the level geometry when he discovers that another helicopter has already been hiding in the permeable walls of the structure and this chopper will soon be claiming it claims to space by making short work of darktoothone.
Another clip that is making the rounds, this one by Michael “Shroud” Grzesiek, shows another problem with some of the skyscrapers on Hourglass. At the wheel of an F-35E Panther fighter jet, Shroud decides to test what happens if he flies directly into some of these structures. As you can see in the video below, the jet only bounces off five or six completely different building before he’s hilariously blown up.
You could say Shroud’s clip has impenetrable walls, structures far too solid to break through. But you could also call the jet indestructible. Regardless, this shouldn’t happen in a “realistic” military shooter.
It seems that developer DICE forgot to fix collisions for some of the buildings in. to implement Battlefield 2042, and made others unrealistically sure of colliding at hundreds of miles per hour. Be careful when you fly out there. You never know if you’re just ricocheting off a building or encountering a helicopter ambushing you inside the ethereal walls of a building.

There seems to be a lot wrong with that Battlefield 2042. In addition to problems with helicopters and hovercraft, the should be annoyed soon the players are Blow up tanks with snipers faster than missiles while others are find themselves trapped in XP farms like lamb for slaughter. The game takes things tough, so that’s what it feels like came out at the wrong time.
