Discord, Spotify, Wikipedia and other web services are down Tuesday, according to various user reports, social media accounts and the website down detector. Discord’s outage began around 12 p.m. EST, causing disruptions to the popular chat app.
“We are aware of an issue resulting in message errors and are working on a fix,” Discord said via its Twitter account. Discord followed that tweet with a piece of advice: “Time to get outside everyone.”

Discord users were unable to log into the service and report problems sending messages.
According to incident report, Discord began investigating “API errors and push notification errors” at 12:16 PM EST and attempted to identify and fix the issues. At 1:08 p.m. EST, the incident report noted that a “root cause was also detected in our streaming service,” requiring a controlled restart that would have caused a “temporary disruption to streaming.” However, “a new issue has arisen that has caused a major outage of the API”. As of 1:29 p.m. EST, the outage issue is under further investigation.
Discord has already experienced multiple outages in 2022. Including only in Februaryas well as a two-hour outage in January, preventing users from joining calls or using chat features. Discord also experienced a Major failure in Novemberalong with Spotify, Snapchat, and Etsy, all of which have been impacted by Google Cloud issues.
