While it’s impressive to beat such a big and often challenging game so quickly, what makes it even more impressive is the fact that Distortion2 has been in overdrive lately. Just a day ago, he recorded what was probably the first sub-40-minute final run of the game. And the day before he beat the game in less than 50 minutes, again believed to be one of/if not the first person to do so.
Since this is an “Any%” run, Distorition2 doesn’t have to complete all the steps, get all the runes, or do anything else normally required to progress through the game. The main goal in this type of runs is to just get to the end and get to the credits as quickly as possible, using all sorts of methods and tricks.
Over time, word got around about the speedrunning community elden ring forms and starts creating rules, categories and documenting runs, we will likely see players beating the game while doing everything or not using glitches. But for now, Distortion2’s runs are still impressive to watch, especially considering how many people take weeks to beat a game like this elden ring.
Distortion2 streams every day and is always trying to improve on their record with the aim of bringing the total time under 30 minutes. If you want to see him live, watch him on Twitch.
