Surely after reading one of these messages, you slammed a sword against the wall expecting a fun secret, only to be dismissed and verify that the liar ahead message you also saw nearby is real .
But the discovery of a player in elden ring may have just rewritten the rules about illusory walls in FromSoftware’s new game. A member of elden ring subreddit, teristam, posted what they discovered on Friday a secret wall in the game this requires dozens of hits – 50 hits!! – so that it disappears.

This wall – you may have already met it yourself because it stands out – is located in Volcano Manor and only gives access to a room that you can easily get to otherwise. In fact, you’ve probably been to this room that’s home to Rya and Knight Bernahl before.
elden ring Players on the subreddit quickly went from “oh cool” to “oh no” after witnessing Teristam’s discovery.
“You know now we have to go through the whole game again and check every wall,” said RexLongbone.
Turns out there’s at least one other super illusion wall like this one, also in Volcano Manor.

But this particular wall of Volcano Manor appears to be more of an anomaly than an omen. Having defeated this strange new wall myself in armed combat, I can confirm that it doesn’t behave like other illusory walls. First, breaking the wall doesn’t trigger the traditional illusory sound of wall breaking – it just disappears. Second, these walls respawn you should rest in a place of grace. It’s possible that this stone wall is a special, maybe even unique, instance in the game – it may have been added as an object to separate Rya and Knight Bernahl’s room, where fighting is not allowed, from the hallway full of venomous snail monsters.
Or maybe there are dozens of such walls elden ring, with fun secrets and powerful weapons behind them. There’s only one way to find out…
