Epic Games announces two-week, Coachella-themed Fortnite collaboration

Epic Games, which is practically only in competition with itself when it comes to wacky crossovers with franchises like Naruto, SilkSonicand whatever character Dwayne “the Rock” Johnson is playing this yearannounced a collaboration between Fourteen days and the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.

Players can turn on Icon Radio, Fourteen days‘s in-game music station and through May 16th, get new songs from 30 artists who are headlining Coachella 2022. Fourteen days will also be releasing new skins, outfits and accessories in the item over two weekends, similar to how Coachella’s IRL lineup is going.

Waves fall today April 14th and next Thursday April 21st.

The first Rocking at Coachella bundle contains two skins named Wilder and Lyric. The outfits also come with matching accessories in the Finfin Back Bling, Neon Biter Pickaxe and Finfin Flair Wrap that actually respond to live music. Fun.

The second Dancing at Coachella bundle also features two new skins: Alto and Poet, as well as the Softest Electropalm pickaxe, Cactical Crusher pickaxe, Mainstage foil, and an Enter the Coachellaverse loading screen (for those with one Affinity for the cute couple on the promotional graphic). All of the above outfits and items can be purchased together or individually.

For those who want to show off their festival style, especially the music reactive parts, Fourteen days will be hosting a photo contest for player screenshots to be shared online on Twitter using the hashtag #Fortography or via the post flair on the r/FortNiteBR underreddit. The Fortnite team says they will be sharing their favorites in a blog post on April 29th.

“Coachella is all about being yourself, so keep up the good vibes by doing just that,” the Fourteen days team said in a blog entry.

While there won’t be a virtual Coachella event mimicking the live version, but Fourteen days co-hosted in-game concerts marshmello, Ariana Grandeand Travis Scott. So it’s no surprise that Coachella would eventually find its way Fourteen days‘s base building island crazy collaborations. Let’s just hope players stay hydrated with plenty of Chug Jugs.
