Uber Uniques are said to be the rarest and most powerful items in Diablo IV and they will soon be completely redesigned. Blizzard outlined how each element changes in the upcoming Season of the Infernal Hordes to improve the equipment of all builds. They will also get a new name.
The first thing to know about Uber Uniques in Season 5 is that they will now be called Mythic Uniques. Second, the stats of each one will be fundamentally changed to ensure that they can compete with the best Masterworked gear and feel meaningful and rewarding no matter what class you play or what build you use.
Here’s the list of the eight current Uber Uniques that are getting reworked and have a low chance of dropping in Nightmare Dungeons or being craftable with Resplendent Sparks. The full changes can be seen in the slideshow above:
- Tyrael’s Power
- Ahavarion, Spear of Lycander
- Andariel’s face
- Bringer of Fate
- Harlequin coat of arms
- Melted Heart by Selig
- Ring of the Starless Sky
- The grandpa
Season of the Infernal Hordes goes live on August 6th, bringing a new wave-based mode, some more story quest lines, and tons of improvements to classes, XP farming, and pretty much everything else in the game. It’s the big content update that’s meant to take players through to the Vessel of Hatred expansion, which launches in Diablo IV in October and takes place after a comprehensive revision of the hive only in the last season.
After over a year, the loot-based action RPG is arguably better than ever, even if it’s still not everything some players had hoped it would be, and perhaps never will be, given its modern, battle-pass-based live service design. It’s still an excellent game to turn your brain off and grind, and it’s as good a time as any to start building character for Vessel of Hatred. Diablo IV is also free with a paid Game Pass subscription on Xbox and PC, although the price has just increased.
