Although it might have felt that way Kind of funny‘s Blessing Adeoye Jr. talked about upcoming games and world premieres at 1.75x speed, Disney and Marvel’s D23 stream event managed to show a few games that weren’t just movie trailers. Here’s everything we’ve seen at Disney and Marvel’s D23 Expo Showcase, ranked by order of whether or not they had real gameplay.
Marvel’s Midnight Sun
hey looks like this Marvel’s Midnight Sun got a new release date. As it was originally scheduled for March before being delayed (twice), it’s nice to see that it’s coming to PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC on December 2nd. We also saw a nice animated short with the likes of Blade and Wolverine tearing fools apart. Now I’ve heard that this game has some sort of major romance mechanic, aside from being Marvel’s answer to it XCOM through … become XCOMso I will follow the career of this game with great interest.

Humble Bundle 2K Megahits Game Bundle for Covenant House
Providing shelter and supportive services to youth affected by homelessness
A number of games from 2K have been bundled together. You can pay whatever you want to support the cause, but if you want access to some of the big hits like Borderlands 3, The Bioshock Collection, XCOM: The Ultimate Collection, and Sid Meier’s Civilizatrion VI, you’ll need to pay at least $16. But hey, that’s hardly anything compared to the $663 value you get from all 18 games combined.
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora
I hope you are not tired of hearing about it avatar (the blue people) in 2022 because Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora showed off a new trailer demonstrating how you can create and participate in your own Na’vi Call of Duty-Esque Deathmatch with your ponytailed comrades.
Avatar: reckoning
While Avatar: reckoning is not necessarily a new game, we saw new gameplay during D23 Expo. Its D23 trailer described the game as an action-packed MMORPG shooter that you can play in the palm of my hand. So if you’re in the market for it, this game might be your thing.
Lego Star Wars: The Galactic Edition of the Skywalker Saga
More war of stars characters are come to a lego game near you because TT Games has announced they are adding 30 new playable characters Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga in its new Galactic Edition. The Galactic Edition includes six character packs (for $6 each). This includes Cassian Andor, rev , Captain Rex and other familiar faces. Marvel snap
If you wanted your own Hearthstone Looking ahead to Marvel characters, Awkwafina’s distinctive voice just answered your prayer with the announcement of Marvel snapa strategy game for mobile phones.
illusion island
fans of The wonder world of Mickey Mouse Cartoons that wanted a platformer starring Mickey, Donald, Goofy and Minnie gets just that. The game looks like a lot of fun, especially with the potential for cooperative play with your friends.
Return to Monkey Island
monkey island‘s latest trailer was accompanied by the voice (and face) of Dominic Armato, the voice behind it Guybrush Threepwood. The trailer promotes LucasArts’ classic adventure series with a new art style, musical score and journal in the style of Nathan Drake, so you can document your time at sea and reminisce about adventures in previous games. monkey island will be released on September 19 for PC and Nintendo Switch.
Disney Dreamlight Valley
dream light valley, Disney’s (extremely good) version animal crossingShe gets an extension with the toys out toy story. I have to admit that climbing around in Andy’s room with Buzz and Woody sounds pretty fun, but I got distracted by Mr. Lightyear flirting with Ursula in the trailer. Jessie won’t like this, spaceman. you out of your pocket.
Disney Speed Storm
Okay, I know gaming is inundated by franchises who don’t know what to do with their IP and commit to developing a kart racer, but Disney Speed Storm looks kinda hyped. Mickey Mouse in Tokyo aborts Sully Monster Inc. probably checking off someone’s bucket list. If you wanted a release date, there wasn’t one, but it listed one website where you can sign up for updates and wishlist the game on Steam and the Epic Games Store.
Disney Mirrorverse
Disney has taken the phrase “sometimes it’s good to be bad” to heart with its new trailer reflection, his mobile RPG. The trailer has fan-favorite villains like Ursula (hello again), Hades, Oogie Boogie, and Scar battling hordes of monsters.
Marvel Strike Force
Marvel Strike Forcea 2018 turn-based RPG for mobile has got a brand new trailer in which all the Hulks, red or not, stomp into a mud hole abomination. Rest in peace my man.
New Black Panther / Captain America game
What’s better than a Captain America or a Black Panther Game? A game in which the two are defeating the Nazis in World War II. To make things even sweeter, the game is edited by Unexplored Series writer Amy Hennig. While the trailer was short on gameplay for Easter egg references, the concept behind the game definitely shows promise. It also answered the nagging question in the back of my mind that Cap’s policies weren’t “timely” compared to America’s feelings toward my melanized brother. Respect.
Aliens: Dark Descent
If you’re one of those people who forgot Disney technically owns them extraterrestrial Franchise, hello, hello, it does, and it’s working on a new game called Aliens: Dark Descent. It is a squad based RTS strategy action game in extraterrestrial Universe, and it looks like you’re guiding your squadron of Marines through narrow corridors of derelict starships while blasting Xenomorphs.
Wonderland of Heroes
It looks like Marvel saw what Niantic was up to Pokemon Go and said Marvel fans should take a break from Twitter and get outside too. Huzza. Wonderland of Heroes is an AR mobile game where you can take a break from touching grass to meet Dr. pulling out Strange’s slingshot ring and patrol your neighborhood for scum and villains. Be careful not to get arrested. Players have a bad reputation the way it is.
Tron: identity
I admit, I was born in 1996, so until then I had no idea what that was my box‘s Zack Zwiezen chimed in for the first few seconds of this trailer by typing “TRON” into our Slack channel. So yeah, it looks like we’re getting a new one Tron game one Tron: identity. Apparently it’s a visual novel. It has a beautiful typeface.
And that’s all they showed in this rather small, 23-minute showcase. Did you notice anything particularly interesting?
