The wait is almost over. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom finally coming to the Switch on May 14, 2023. Three epic trailers plus a look at some gameplay only got us more excited to finally dive into the next chapter of Nintendo’s adventure series. This time, Link has a bunch of cute new abilities. One is a clever approach to crafting that the game calls “Fuse.”

Link’s new “Fuse” and “Ultrahand” abilities as teased in trailers and in a Gameplay Deep Dive on March 28th, is actually a pretty cute crafting system. Rather than just following preset crafting recipes, players can combine all sorts of unique objects they find throughout Hyrule to forge makeshift weapons. crazy max-worthy vehicles, and who knows what else? Footage so far has shown the ability to create custom designs using simulated physics such as buoyancy and air propulsion. Other examples show weapon upgrades that trigger status effects like freezing.
With a system this versatile, there’s no limit to what you can possibly craft on May 12th. To give you an idea of how handy Link can get, we’ve cataloged everything we’ve seen of our hero Fuse so far. You will see that it is really very useful.
