Thirsty fans are looking for whatever information they can get Grand Theft Auto 6and some believe they found it in a picture promoting the next commercial Grand Theft Auto Online update. The kicker? It has to do with the phases of the moon.
Grand Theft Auto Online is a big moneymaker for Rockstar Games and as such, the game continues to receive updates more than a decade after it was first included as a multiplayer component in 2013 Grand Theft Auto 5. The next big expansion is scheduled for December, but most people seem to be focusing instead on a single image used to promote upcoming content as it may have some reference to a future Grand Theft Auto 6 Notice.
“A waning moon in the last Rockstar post,” said Reddit user tnasstyy posted in the r/GTA6 subreddit on November 1st. “The next phase of the moon will take place on November 17th. Who freed me from my straitjacket?”
Further research by commenters revealed that the specific moon phase in the image could occur a little later in the month, sometime around November 22nd. But why is so much importance given to the movements of the moon, and what does that have to do with it? Grand Theft Auto 6?
Many believe this isn’t the first time Rockstar Games has announced a release date for a trailer through a picture of the moon. Two months earlier, the developer announced the release date for the first game on December 5th Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer, it released a screenshot of Grand Theft Auto Onlineis the Moon Festival celebration in the game. The moon in this image was a waning moon pointing to December 1st, which happened to be the day of the aforementioned announcement.
Even if the hypothesis itself is still a bit hackneyed, this kind of enthusiasm is just more of what we expect from it Grand Theft Auto Community. Back in the days of Grand Theft Auto: San AndreasDiehards became obsessed with finding Bigfoot in this game’s vast wilderness areas, a decades-long commitment that was finally rewarded when the cryptid showed up Grand Theft Auto 5. More recently, people have been combing through the single Grand Theft Auto 6 Trailer for any information they can find, such as a quick shot of the serial numbers on a $100 bill, which may indicate the year the game is set in.
Rockstar Games did not immediately respond to a request for comment. In any case, we won’t have to wait long to find out whether this so-called moon theory works again.
