In June 2018 A brawl broke out at a park in St. Louis, resulting in one victim suffers a “traumatic eye trauma”. The fight was caught on video and resulted in two men being arrested for aggravated assault. These men were finally brought to justice, and a court found both guilty Third degree assault.
As the St. Louis mail delivery reportthe two men – 75 years old Robert Matteuzzi and his 35-year-old son Angelo Matteuzzi – were recorded in 2018 attacking a man near a lake in Kirkwood Park where they were seen “hitting the victim repeatedly and holding the man in the water”.
Kirkwood Park apparently is a Pokemon Go Hotspot where locals are constantly vying for the gym and this conflict has sparked the brawl. Angelo had tried to claim the park from another man, his Pokemon Go Name was “Sammy the Bull” as Matteuzzi “escalated” the disagreement by slapping “Sammy” again “started a brawl that resulted in them both falling about 5 feet into Walker Lake in the park”.
At this point, Angelo’s father, Robert, stepped in to join His son. Both Matteuzzis tried to plead their innocence in court, but the presence of clear video evidence made that difficult. Robert said “I didn’t want to be in the water”, although he was shown rushing into the water to join the fight while Angelo said “I was just trying to get my Pokemon to the gym,” though he dealt the first punch.
You can see “Sammy’s” injuries in this news video released in 2018 shortly after the incident:
There are additional backstory herebecause “two of the former victims Pokemon Go Teammates” testified for the prosecution, while “aAnother member of the Matteuzzi family testified for the defense about a previous encounter between the two Pokemon Go Teams,” which is claimed in the video above Another attack. These guys clearly had longstanding Pokemon Go Beef!
