Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade finally got its Windows PC version on December 16, which meant new options for modders. Since its release, developers have come up with hilarious and terrifying mods, including one that re-imagines the fearsome Sephiroth as Ronald McDonald.

The mod with the name “Sephironald” was published on December 29th by Crandifff and can be downloaded from his website Nexus Mods Page. It turns a once staunch villain into a character you will easily hate. Somehow he’s just not as bewitching as an antagonist when covered in literal clown makeup. Even if the concept may not be entirely original – fans have cosplayed versions of “Sephironald” before – when Cloud meets Ronald, the concept will be fully implemented.

Final Fantasy 7 remake reinvents the original Final Fantasy 7 (1997) with loving attention to detail. Modders, in turn, can play with this detailed representation and completely destroy our ideas of how we see these characters. Many published mods just allow Characters like Aerith and Tifa to wear different outfits – like their Wall Market dresses – for the entire game, but others are more goofy. Another mod released on January 4th allows players to cover up Cloud’s flawless skin with face tattoos.

A streamer named Louiseyhannah posted a compilation of some fun moments on Twitter with multiple mods installed – including the Sephironald – where you can see in real time just how terrible he looks.

This is not the first time Final Fantasy 7 remake has been modified. Before Windows released, someone else created a mod that would let you play the entire game as a cloud in one dress (including fighting). Now we’ll likely see a lot more mods when people tinker with the Windows PC version.

To update: Context to the “Sephironald” cosplay has been added to this story.
