First Blade Runner: Black Lotus Trailer Debuts at SDCC 2021

The latest addition to the Blade Runner universe has a new trailer. Adult Swim and Crunchyroll have the new trailer for. released Blade Runner: Black Lotus, the show that the networks are co-producing, during a special event at San Diego Comic-Con 2021 on Friday.

Black lotus Set, like most Blade Runner stories, in Los Angeles in 2032. That puts it in the middle of the original film set in 2019 and the sequel Blade Runner 2049. The series follows Elle (Jessica Stanwick), who appears to be a replicant created for a specific purpose with special powers. It seems that she is known as the Black Lotus and somehow escaped the forces that created it. In the trailer we see her on the run and hunted, presumably by at least one Blade Runner, but that reveals all the more plot.

The series will also be Brian Cox (Succession), Wes Bentley (The hunger Games), Stephen Root (Office space) and many other recognizable names.

Blade Runner: Black Lotus runs 13 episodes and is directed by Shinji Aramaki (Apple cores) and Kenji Kamiyama (Ghost in the Shell: Standalone Complex). The series is animated by Sola Digital Arts (Ultraman 2019) and produced by Alcon Entertainment. Shinichiro Watanabe, the legendary director behind shows like Cowboy bebop, Samurai Champloo, and Carole & Tuesday, will act as the series’ creative producer.

Blade Runner: Black Lotus will air on Adult Swim and streamed on Crunchyroll when it releases this fall.
