Despite its many complicated systems that weigh down the overall experience, Fortnite remains one of the most popular multiplayer games. When was the last time you checked the Battle Pass system? For a long time, the battle royale game required multiple forms of currency to progress through its season pass system and unlock unique rewards like skins and emotes, but that’s changing. Epic Games intends to simplify the user experience by removing Festival Points, Battle Stars and Studs. Now you can get through the pass with good old XP!
This welcome change will take effect on December 1st. Then everyone Fortnite Passes are driven by XP earned by playing any of the core playlists. Yes, this includes Battle Royale, Lego Fortnite, Rocket Racing and Fortnite Festival.
For long-time players, this shouldn’t be a significant change. If you actively play Fortnite Battle Royale, this progression system was introduced previously and will be activated on November 2nd for the Music Pass, replacing the Festival Pass. The Brick or Treat Lego Pass follows on December 1st.
Of course, Epic doesn’t consolidate all of the different passes. If you play multiple game modes FortniteIn other games, such as Battle Royale and Lego, you still need to purchase separate passes to unlock all seasonal items for both modes. However, Epic said: “Stay tuned, you’ll soon have an easy way to snag all the Premium Passes at once.” They’re probably pointing to purchasing a single bundle, which will save you money if you buy all the Passes at once .
This is certainly a welcome change that goes against what many gamers had feared following Disney’s investment in Epic Games. While You still can’t fight Mickey Mouse Coney Crossroads is planning to have a persistent universe in some form. It’s likely that there will be some sort of battle pass in this new universe that requires XP to progress.
