The once dazzling towns of Grand Glacier and Lavish Lair are no longer where they once were Fourteen days.
Players can still visit these locations on the current Chapter 5 Season 2 map, but they no longer have the character they once did. The new update has removed their boss fights and the vaults full of loot. Of course, you can still wander the hallowed halls of each location, but everything feels a lot emptier. Now, fans on TikTok have been posting melodramatic (and slightly funny) clips sharing what they miss about the old version as they now visit lonely places.
Epic Games has released Chapter 5, Season 2 of Fourteen days on 8th of March. Another season means eye-catching new locations like the hazy, underworld-inspired lands of Grim Gate and the ethereal Mount Olympus. In general, these new Greek-inspired locations have been hotbeds of combat for players, but that has left other spots in the dust. Anyone who takes the time to wander into the ancient regions will find that they are surprisingly empty. Now players can no longer fight the old bosses and slots from their annoying NPCs and loot-filled vaults have been emptied.
This has inspired some to comment on the strange emptiness that comes with abandoned digital spaces. One Person wrote on TikTokA video showing a quiet library room in a mansion states: “Either I’m extremely emotional or something because these bosses are gone and the vaults are empty.” While some commented on the general vacancy of some buildings, others missed certain characters. In the comments, fans lamented the loss of Montague, Grand Glacier’s former boss. The top comment, which viewers liked more than 27,700 times, read: “I was devastated to find out Montague was dead, to be honest.”
The videos are so overly dramatic that they almost cross the line. It’s been less than a week since Epic Games released the new season, so all the fear may be a bit overblown. In this video, a person shares a video of an empty room with a sad Frank Ocean song playing in the background.
Fans also shared memorable videos the locations that the developers removed in the new patch, such as Hazy Hillside.
Not everyone misses the old locations. People are already having a lot of fun with the new weapons and exploring the new locations. It may be a little funny or a little sad, but change is the only real constant Fourteen days. I think the Greek philosopher Heraclitus said it best when he spoke about how everything is changing“You couldn’t step into the same river twice.” I suspect that’s not what the ancient thinker was referring to Fourteen days when he said that, but hey, it definitely applies here.
