If you previously enjoyed the blistering body damage and absurd headshot multiplier of Fourteen days‘s Mythic Havoc pump action shotgun, I have sad news. In a recent update, Epic Games nerfed the brutal weapon. But don’t worry, the 24.20 update still has a few exciting things in store.
The Mythic Havoc shotgun arrived in Fourteen days with Chapter 4: Season 2 and it didn’t take long for players to realize just how devastating this weapon was. The Mythic Havoc joined the ranks of other heavyweights like the Combat Shotgun, Drum Cannon, Shockwave Hammer, and of course the Infinity Blade, sending players flocking to Mega City to secure it from the Vault. The Mythic Havoc shotgun deals 144 damage to an enemy’s body and would make short work of almost anyone. But when shot to the head, a 250 damage stat easily puts its wielder in an unstoppable state. That all changes with update 24.20, which lowers headshot damage from 250 to 210. I’m just as emotionally crushed about this as you are, but hey, at least the dirt bikes have returned?
You should still grab the Mythic Havoc Pump Shotgun (here’s how to get it)
While the 40 point damage reduction on headshots is a bit of a shame for us dastardly shotguns, it still has a pretty meaty base damage. I would argue it’s still worth grabbing. Here’s where you get it:
Continue to Mega City in the southeast corner of the Asteria map. Look out for the Highcard boss and take him out; He’ll put up a reasonably decent fight, but if you’ve got a decent weapon you can make short work of him. He will drop a key card. Follow your HUD prompt to the vault to find Mythic Havoc’s pump action shotgun.
Yes, it’s not as powerful as it used to be, but it can still easily back you up to a royal victory. In fact, I just got a win with it (and a heavy sniper rifle). Apologies for this nonsense at Secluded Spire. GG’s?
Fourteen days Update 24.20 brings back dirt bikes and other changes
Who doesn’t love a dirt bike? Arguably the most exciting aspect of the new update sees the return of the Trail thrasher dirt bike. When two players take a seat, the driver can shoot while moving at high speed, making him fast and deadly.
And while the Mythic Overclocked Pulse Rifle has dialed back its accuracy and hipfire rate, the Kinetic Blade has received a new rare variant that keeps the damage the same but grants you an extra kinetic Dash charge, bringing the total to two.
Update 24.20 may have reduced damage from a cute weapon Fortnite’s Sandbox, but rest assured I’ll still be making my way to Mega City to snag that Havoc shotgun.
