The Paleozoic Pokémon Genesect is coming Pokémon Go on March 20, Niantic announced Thursday. Pokémon will make its day with a new Special Investigation event that will begin March 20 at 8 a.m. to March 26 at 10 p.m. (local times). Niantic said extending the length of the event would make it "playable by as many Coaches around the world as possible."
Players will have to purchase tickets for $ 7.99 to experience the special Research event and interact with Geneticect. Included with the ticket is for research purposes for other Pokémon bug, new avatar items, and more, all explained in a new blog post. For those not buying a ticket, Geneticect will be appearing in the Ex Raids starting April. Its signature attack will change type depending on the Drive it handles.
Even if you don't have a ticket, there will be an event with the Genesis theme with different puzzles running March 20-23. Here's what you can expect, right on Niantic:
Features
- Normal-, Fire-, Water-, Electric-, and Ice-type Pokémon will appear frequently in the wild. You may see Pokémon like Jigglypuff, Magnemite, Marill, Houndour, and Snorunt appearing often in the wild.
- Nincada will come from the wild and fall from 5 km Eggs. If you're lucky, you can either meet or catch up with Shiny!
- Karrablast and Shelmet would be very close together for 5 km of eggs.
- One-to-four star Raid Battles will feature Bugé or metal Pokémon.
