Throne and freedom is a feature-rich MMO with potentially hundreds of hours of content and character development to enjoy. So if you’re the type of person who enjoys running through dungeons, farming loot, and defeating other people in PVP, this massive Steam hit might be right up your alley. But since it can all feel a bit overwhelming at first, we have a few tips to get you started on your adventure Throne and freedom.
Choose your server based on who you want to play with
You cannot play with players from other servers Throne and freedomSo if you’re hoping to collaborate with a few friends, make sure you all agree to join the same server in advance. Of course, if you find that your friends have somehow left you behind – maybe they got distracted by a passing truck and followed it from state to state, forgetting about their MMO and their friendships – you can always opt for one Server transfer to pay ticket – but that costs real money, so do it right the first time, damn it.
Choose your weapons wisely and stick with them
Part of the appeal of Throne and freedom is its unique class system that allows you to equip any two weapon types at the same time, allowing you to use the passive and active abilities of each at the same time. But that doesn’t mean it’s a good idea to switch between a bunch of different combinations throughout the game – unless you want to spend one much the later time loop.
Of course, you can swap weapon combinations at any time, but you should be aware that the time and material investment required to level up each type of weapon is quite high. Therefore, it’s a good idea to play around a bit when starting out, picking the combination you like right from the start and sticking with it until you’ve made significant progress with your first few weapons. Only then should you think about leveling new ones. Think of it like your stats are linked to the weapons.
You get access to one weapon of each type from the start of the game. It is therefore highly recommended that you spend as much time as necessary attacking the target dummies in one of the early areas, trying out each combination until you find something that really works for you.
Any weapon combination is viable, but yes, there is still a meta
Speaking of weapon loadouts, you can be sure that any combination in the game can handle it the most content, but that doesn’t mean they’re all created equal. In fact, combining these weapons is all about synergy, and not all loadouts work together as well as others.
Let’s take refueling, for example. In this scenario, your two best options are Sword & Shield + Greatsword or Sword & Shield + Wand & Tome. The former allows you to deal more damage when tanking, and the latter gives you plenty of self-healing for more sustainability. That doesn’t mean you can’t try other combinations – it just means they’re less likely to benefit you with more demanding content. Bringing something like a staff or a longbow as a tank doesn’t really give you many useful defensive abilities to help you with survivability, which can make the job a little more difficult (as well as the healer’s).
Whether you want to tank, heal, or play DPS, be sure to play whatever you have the most fun with. Just don’t be shocked if you occasionally get rejected by meta-focused groups for some of the game’s toughest dungeons and encounters.
Complete the early crafting and upgrade quests as quickly as possible
At the start of the game, you are given a series of quests that ask you to craft various accessories and upgrade pieces of equipment. Do this as quickly as possible. By upgrading various pieces of equipment to green quality and equipping multiple accessories, you can increase your combat power (see: equipment score), which is required to access dungeons and other content.
For example, the game’s first main dungeon unlocks at level 20, but you need a Combat Power Rank of 600. If you complete the early quests that ask you to grapple with this mechanic, you should reach this number almost immediately.
You can see your combat power on your character screendirectly below where you improve your stats. Increase it as often as possible by upgrading and enchanting your equipment or improving your skills.
Look for a guild to join
Look, joining an old guild is usually not a good decision, but you should definitely try to find one that suits you –Throne and freedom is a very guild-focused experience. Joining a guild offers a wealth of benefits, such as access to guild contracts to earn guild coins, which can then be used to purchase unique items from a guild merchant. Finally, as a guild grows and levels up, you can also take advantage of guild abilities, which can provide buffs such as bonus XP or Sollant (money), reduced boss damage, or mana regeneration.
These guilds are a core part of the PVP experience and allow you to form alliances with other guilds or mark an unwanted guild as hostile. You can team up with your guildmates to try to occupy specific spots on the map to earn unique buffs and opportunities to fight specific raid bosses.
Alternatively, if joining another guild doesn’t appeal to you, you can always simply create your own guild in the guild menu. However, you should make sure that you are interested in recruiting and building a fun group of guildmates to take advantage of the best benefits of a guild. You know, it will be quite difficult to compete against other guilds as an individual.
Fast travel to your heart’s content
Enter quickly Throne and freedom is free up to level 30. Therefore, make sure you use the various waypoints on the map to quickly move between areas, turn in quests, or find enemies or items you are currently looking for.
Of course, to get to a waypoint quickly, you need to have interacted with it at least once beforehand. So don’t miss out on walking up to these suckers and saying hello with a quick button press – it will save you a lot of time.
