The latest official set of Magic the Gathering Cards, The War of the Brothers, contains a series of cards featuring Transformers, Hasbro’s legacy property featuring shape-shifting robots. Next, the company is reworking some other coveted cards and revamping their art in a series of Transformers-themed Secret Lair drops. Polygon has the exclusive first look at all maps going on sale starting December 5th at 9am PST.
The Secret Lair series gives select magic Maps are new art, and many different series have been featured since the program was announced in 2019. The cards are sold via one-off offers – you buy them now or face the used market later. There is no limit to how many cards you can purchase, but they are only available for a limited time. Note that these Transformers cards are considered part of the Universes Beyond series, a program that contains cards with Warhammer 40,000 art. Fourteen days
There are three Transformers Secret Lair sets in total — Transformers: Optimus Prime vs. Megatron, Transformers: Roll Out or Rise Upand Transformers: One will stand, one will fall. Optimus Prime vs Megatron contains three maps with new graphics: Blightsteel Colossus, doubling cubeand Darksteel Colossus. Roll out or stand up has six: true belief, Dramatic reversal, Fabricate, Collective Brutality, Forciblyand greater good. One will stand has five different basic maps, each with a different location on Cybertron.
Each of these card sets is priced at $29.99 for non-foiled cards and $39.99 for foiled cards.
