Spring may be on the horizon, but that doesn’t mean winter is over in the Nine Realms. God of War Ragnarok received a new update on Wednesday that will allow players to relive its story with additional features. The New Game Plus update adds new gear, a higher level cap, and new upgrades to improve your armor the PlayStation Blog.
In order to access the new content, you must complete the base game. Once done, you can start a New Game Plus save with additional features that you can access right from the start. Equipment, weapons, and abilities carry over from your last save as well, so you can use all your fancy tricks right from the start – apart from the sonic and hex arrows.
The main additions include a whole host of new armor options. Highlights include the Black Bear, which dresses Kratos in his large furry cloak from the start of the game, and the Spartan Armor, which basically makes the journey more difficult because it has unique lower stats. (The set has no perk or additional stats and remains locked at the first power level.) The update also brings the Ares and Zeus armor sets from the original game, as well as new color options for existing armor.
There are plenty of other additions if you don’t want to dress up as Kratos. There will be a higher level cap, allowing both Kratos and his enemies to level up more. Expanded play will also allow players to turn their level 9 gear into a special “Plus” version, and will introduce new improvements to further customize items. You can either pick the perfect power-up or use the new “Last” enchantments to adjust the difficulty of a fight.
