God of War Ragnarok should start in November This is according to a Bloomberg report. This is despite a report released earlier this week that suggested the game had been pushed back to 2023, citing “multiple European sources”.
The release date for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 game will be announced later in June, Bloomberg said. Polygon contacted Sony for more information.
God of War ragnarok, the sequel to the critically acclaimed game from 2018 God of Warwas originally slated for a 2021 release but was later postponed, pushing it to the back half of 2022. God of War Ragnarok‘s absence from State of Play last week and Summer Game Fest on Thursday seem to have fueled rumors of the delay.
Bloomberg noted that there is still a possibility God of War Ragnarok will be delayed again – but that it’s currently still slated for a November release date.
God of War Ragnarok will bring Kratos and his son Atreus back to Midgard, albeit several years after the events of the 2018 game. Developer Sony Santa Monica described God of War Ragnarok in September 2021 as the “finale” for Kratos’ Norse saga.
“Together, Kratos and Atreus will have to make a decision about which path to take,” the developer said at the time. “Whatever they choose will determine the fate of all who live in the Nine Realms as Ragnarök approaches.”
through God of War RagnarokKratos and Atreus face two main antagonists, Freya and Thor, played by Danielle Biscutti (God of War) and Ryan Hurst (Sons of Anarchy).
