I know you’ve all been worried and losing sleep over this, so I’m happy to bring you this very important news: Kuma the bear will be here Tekken 8.
For those who don’t know Kuma: First of all: rude. And second: come on. Kuma the bear is the best character in the Tekken franchise, appears in every main game as a playable fighter with fantastic cutscenes at the end. Seriously, some of the best and funniest cutscenes in the world Tekken Franchise star Kuma, who often clashes with the series’ major villains Heihachi Mishima. It’s great stuff. And now this lovable (yet dangerous) bear is officially confirmed Tekken 8.
On December 27th, Bandai gave Namco a belated Christmas present in the form of a reveal trailer for Kuma Tekken 8. In the newly released video, the “Master of Salmon” looks fluffier and deadlier than ever, complete with a stylish headband and vest. This is one tough guy, guys.
In the video, We also see Kuma’s panda counterpart, known as…Panda. Not the most original name, but it works. Like Kuma, Panda was a fighter in most of the main fights Tekken games and is often seen in cutscenes interacting with Kuma.
Perhaps the best part of this new teaser happens towards the end when we see Kuma transform his salmon into a futuristic cybernetic fish rocket and send it flying into Panda. Tekken is a strange franchise, right?
And yes, I know there are technically TWO Kumas Tekken Series as seen in today’s trailer actually the son of the original bear represented in the first two games. This current Kuma became a fighter after his father died before the events of Tekken 3. Yes, Tekken is strange.
But I love how strange it is, and I’m excited for Kuma’s new ending Tekken 8 when it releases on January 26, 2024 for Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC.
