Microsoft has released its final price update for all digital Xbox 360 games ahead of the console’s marketplace goes offline permanently on July 29th. That means you can now get a lot of good old games for very cheap. And as a tribute to its most successful gaming box of all time, Microsoft has even immortalized the Xbox 360 Blade interface with a free new dynamic background for Xbox Series X/S.
While there are hundreds of games available to purchase on the Xbox 360 Store over the next few weeks, I’ve tried to narrow the selection down to a handful of absolute favorites that are both really cheap and (mostly) never received a next-gen update or HD remaster. The full list of discounted games can be found here. Here are my recommendations:
You really can’t go wrong with any of them. Black is an excellent atmospheric, cinematic shooter from the people behind the Burn out series and is also nice and short – a perfect feature in 2024 when the game only costs a dollar. Strings is a 2014 reboot of Capcom’s classic action-platformer that looks great and features more modern elements. Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike Online Edition is widely regarded as the best version of one of the best Street Fighter games of all time.

Dishonoredhasn’t gained much since being ported to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in a Game of the Year-style complete edition (apart from all the DLC), so it seems worth the price. And ironically, Remember me has probably been forgotten by most people. It’s a sci-fi adventure game about remembering the past, set in a futuristic surveillance state called Neo-Paris. Its decent story, great music, and a novel mix of awkwardly implemented game mechanics make it one of the more unique games of the era.
And you can play all these games for less than the price of a month Game Pass after price increase.
