Guide to Pokémon Go's December 2023 Community Weekend

The end of the year is here, that is Pokémon Go concludes another event with a huge Community Day weekend event. The Community weekend 2023 The event will cover all of Pokémon featured at Community Days throughout the year, and you’ll even have a chance to grab some Pokémon from 2022.

The event takes place on On December 16th and 17th, most perks are active from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. your local time. There are some other benefits, such as special trades or evolving to get special moves that occur outside of this event period (which we explain below).

If you love collecting shiny Pokémon and have previously missed one of these Community Days, this is your chance. It’s also a great opportunity to grab powerful Pokémon like Conkeldurr or Blastoise.

The featured Community Day Pokémon of the entire year is divided into two days. All Pokémon featured in a 2023 Community Day Classic will appear both days, but less common. In the meantime, Pokémon will also appear for Community Day 2022 Eggs and raids

. Below we list the spawn times, special moves and other benefits of the Pokémon Go 2023 Community Weekend.

Pokémon appear on Community Day on Saturday

The following will appear on Saturday, December 16, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.:

Slowpoke, Galarian Slowpoke and its evolutions with its regular and shiny forms.

Shiny Togepi, Togetic and Togekiss in Pokémon Go with their normal forms. Shiny Togepi has a light pink hue, while Shiny Togetic and Togekiss get a yellow hue.

Chespin, Quilladin and Chesnaught with their shiny forms. All have brown accents thanks to the gloss.

Fennekin, Braixen and Delphox with their shiny forms in Pokémon Go. All shiny shapes turn silver and purple.

Shiny and regular Noibat and Noivern. Both Shiny shapes range from purple and black to green, black and red

Sunday Community Day Pokémon spawn

The following will appear on Sunday, December 17th from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.:

Shiny Poliwag, Poliwhirl, Poliwrath and Politoed in Pokémon Go. Shiny Poliwag and Poliwhirl both take on a lighter shade of blue, Poliwrath turns moss green, and Politoed gets a blue and pink color scheme.

Both Paldean and regular Wooper, Clodsire and Quagsire with their shiny forms. Shiny Wooper and Quagsire turn pink, shiny Paldean Wooper and Clodsire turn deep purple.

Shiny Timburr, Gurdurr and Conkeldurr in Pokémon Go with their normal forms. They all become slightly more golden with bright orange accents.

Axew, Fraxure and Haxorus with their shiny forms in Pokémon Go. Shiny Axew becomes more yellow-brown, Shiny Fraxure becomes yellow-green with blue accents, and Shiny Haxorus becomes black and red.

Froakie, Frogadier and Greninja with their shiny versions in Pokémon Go. Froakie becomes a lighter blue, Frogadier gets a darker head but a lighter body, and Greninja sports a cooler black and red color scheme.

Shiny Grubbin, Charjabug and Vikavolt with their regular forms. Shiny Grubbin turns from orange to red, Charjabug also turns red from green, and Vikavolt turns silver and green.

The Community Day Classic Pokémon appear

The following will appear on both Saturday and Sunday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.:

Shiny Squirtle, Wartortle, Blastoise and Mega Blastoise in Pokémon Go with their regular forms. There is also a set of sunglasses.

Shiny Mareep, Flaaffy, Ampharos and Mega Ampharos with their shiny forms in Pokémon Go. All turn from yellow to pink.

Shiny Swinub, Piloswine and Mamoswine in Pokémon Go with their regular forms. Shiny Swinub turns green while Piloswine and Mamoswine turn yellow

Shiny Larvitar, Pupitar and Tyranitar. Shiny Larvitar is a lighter green, Shiny Pupitar becomes purple, and Shiny Tyranitar becomes a more muted yellow-green.

Community Day Raid 2022 and 2km Egg Pokémon

The following Pokémon are from Community Days 2022, but they will hatch from eggs and appear in raids.

Alolan and normal Sandshrew and Sandslash with their shiny forms. The shiny regular Sandshrew is green and Sandslash has red spikes. Shiny Alolan Sandshrew and Sandslash both receive dark blue accents.

Alolan Geodude, Graveler and Golem with their shiny forms. Each Shiny turns from brown or gray to orange.

Shiny Hoppip, Skiploom and Jumpluff with their regular forms. Hoppip changes from pink to green, Skiploom changes from green to pink, and Jumpluff changes from blue to pink.

Teddiursa, Ursaring and Ursaluna with their shiny forms. Teddiursa and Ursaring both turn light green, but Ursaring takes on a red hue.

Shiny Galarian Zigzagoon, Linoone and Obstagoon with his normal version. The shiny versions come in bright pink and sky blue rather than black and white.

Shiny Spheal, Sealio and Walrein with their regular forms. Their shiny forms are all purple or pink instead of blue.

Shiny Starly, Staravia and Staraptor with their regular forms. All three shiny forms are more light brown.

Shiny Roggenrola, Boldore and Gigalith with their normal forms. Shiny Roggenrola is red and orange. Shiny Boldore and Gigalith have blue crystals instead of orange.

Shiny Litwick lamps and chandeliers with their regular shapes. The normal forms all have purple flames and gold eyes, but Shiny Litwick has a blue flame with blue eyes, Shiny Lampent has a magenta flame with blue eyes, and Shiny Chandelure has orange flames and orange eyes.

Deino, Zweilous, and Hydreigon stand next to their shiny forms, which turn their blue bodies green.

Shiny Bewear and Stufful. While they are usually pink, their shiny forms are golden

Special movements for the community weekend in December 2023

As these Pokémon evolve from 9am on December 16th to 9pm on December 17th, they will learn a special move (with Ursaluna being a special exception):

Note that Ursaring only evolves during a special full moonwhich Niantic said will occur on December 16th at 2pm until December 17th at 6am. The moon will also appear on December 17th from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Bonuses and discounts for Community Day in December

The following bonuses are active on both days from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.:

Catch XP doubled
Catch Stardust has been doubled
Double catch candies (XL included)
The hatching distance for eggs placed in incubators during the above time was halved
The duration of the bait is three hours
Incense sticks are enough for three houses

From 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on both days you also have the opportunity to carry out two special transactions per day. Additionally, Stardust trading costs will be halved.
