There are all kinds of video game mods out there, but very rarely do they aspire to make a political statement. Maybe that’s why I like this particular one Guilty Gear Strut modification So much: It gives the vampire badass Nagoriyuki an outfit that promotes the Black Lives Matter movement. Pretty insignificant in terms of game mods, but a great statement nonetheless.

The mod in question updates Nagoriyuki’s tenth outfit with a neat black and yellow color scheme, but the biggest change is the addition of the words “Black Lives Matter” on his knuckles and belt, as well as the words “No Justice No Peace” on it. big on the back of his jacket. Its creator, a Guilty equipment Player named Lingo RigidShe wrote on Twitter that it took a while you two days to complete.

I love how the colors look on Nagoriyuki’s outfit and even the text font matches text Striving‘s unique aesthetic.

Nagoriyuki is a Guilty equipment Newcomer who made his debut in Striving. It made a splash in the competitive fighting game community when it was revealed alongside the game itself, and it’s easy to see why. He’s a vampire based on history Yasuke, a true African immigrant to Japan who became a samurai during the Sengoku period. Oh, and he has a mechanical face mask that makes him look like a demon. Nagoriyuki is damn cool, period.

Black lives count has become a rally over the past eight years in response to the constant, ubiquitous killings of blacks by police officers across the United States. While Guilty equipment Set in a distant version of our world, it’s not hard to believe that Nagoriyuki, one of the few black characters in the series, would repeat the movement.

Unfortunately, like most mods, the updated graphics only appear to the player who is using them, but I applaud Lingo Starr for theirs Wonderful work.
