Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition has gotten off to a pretty bad start since its November 11th release. On PC, players were unable to play the game for over 24 hours due to issues with the Rockstar Launcher. All versions of the game are full of bugs, visual glitches, terrible weather effects, lack of fog and more. And now it seems that a code of the notorious GTA San Andreas Hot coffee controversy is still in the collection, as are songs that were probably shortened due to licensing. Some of this could explain why the game is still not available on PC.
Shortly after the remastered trilogy was released, Dataminers and fans quickly began rummaging through the collection’s files and code
Also found in these files: Code related to the infamous Hot Coffee sex mini-game. This is after multiple dataminers on social media as well as popular GTA Expert and data miner Vadim M who spoke to me about the recently discovered code.
A short piece of history. In 2004 Rockstar was released GTA San Andreas which offered the opportunity to have sex with different girlfriends in the game. These scenes weren’t graphic, however, and instead featured a short cutscene of CJ entering the friend’s house after being invited for some “coffee” and some suggestive audio clips playing over an exterior shot of the house. However, buried in the code of San Andreas was a sophisticated sex mini-game that Rockstar disabled it but didn’t actually cut it out of the retail version.
G / O Media can receive a commission
In 2005, players found a way to reactivate this “hot coffee” content, which created many legal problems for Take-Two and Rockstar. including a $ 20 million settlement, Lawsuits, class actions, and hearings and participations in US Congress. It was a whole thing. Rockstar would have patched versions of. publish San Andreas This has removed all of the controversial content so the game retains its M rating.
But now, the newly released San Andreas remaster seems to contain at least the code associated with the content of “Hot Coffee”. According to Vadim M, players are unlikely to be able to reactivate the sex mini-game like they did in 2005, as most of the actual assets needed for the mini-game are still missing in these versions.
Why this code is even included in these newly released ports is the best theory that the developers behind the collection of the “master build” of. was given San Andreas and just haven’t removed anything from it. So, all of Rockstar’s comments, changes, and codes from the latest build should be in there GTA The Trilogy – Definitive Editions Files.
Another interesting discovery is that apparently all the songs are from the original version of San Andreas are still in play. However, a script is used to prevent them from playing. Assuming the reason some music is no longer included is because licenses are expiring, it’s probably not great that the songs are still in the game and so easily accessible. I can imagine a lawyer or two finding this questionable.
These “cut” songs – plus the hot coffee files – could be some of the “data files” that Rockstar says it was inadvertently included in the PC version of the game. Whatever the files, two days later the remastered trilogy remains unplayable for people on PC.
