First introduced in the June 2024 Dancing in the Tempest update with the arrival of Kushala Daora, Interceptions are a mix of the game’s Hunt-a-thon events and Pokemon Goin which hunters team up to hunt down a rare, powerful creature.

Release date for Elder Dragon Interceptions

Elder Dragon Interceptions will be broadcast as part of the second season of Dancing in the Tempest on Thursday, June 13The first events of 12 noon local time.

From there, they move back and forth between the collection points throughout the day, starting at around 7:15 a.m. and ending at around 10:45 a.m.


How do Elder Dragon Interceptions work in Monster Hunter Now?

Similar to Hunt-a-Thons, Elder Dragon Interceptions are events that appear for a limited time on the map at collection points. Approach the encounter before the timer runs out to begin.

In combat, a key difference with Elder Dragon Interceptions is the health bar is divided into two parts. When you reach the halfway point (known as the “defensive” phase), you’ll receive monster parts even if you don’t complete the rest of the encounter. Additionally, you’ll still get a reward if you only get to about 20% of the total health bar.

The time limit for Elder Dragon Interceptions are longer than most battlesEach of the two phases lasts about 75 seconds, which probably explains the higher difficulty level of the encounter.

Similar to Hunt-a-thons, solo players participating in an Elder Dragon Interception can will have matchmaking; just wait in the lobby when you first join until it is filled with other players. You also have a Cooling time 180 minutesunless you purchase and use an Ultra Hunting Ticket from the in-game shop.


List of Elder Dragons in Monster Hunter Now

For those who aren’t familiar with Monster Hunter, Elder Dragons are some of the rarest and most powerful creatures in the game. Niantic describes them as “monsters that have existed since time immemorial and possess properties beyond human knowledge.”

As in Pokemon GoIt is likely that the Legendaries will rotate in and out of the game through interceptions over time.
