How much you can carry in your inventory – yours maximum load – determines how much material you can collect Dragon’s Dogma 2. And there is one much Thanks to a never-ending stream of monster parts, fruits, ores and healing items, there are plenty of things to pick up.
What’s frustrating is that your character’s carrying capacity isn’t great and you’ll quickly fill up your inventory and become overloaded, reducing your movement speed and causing your stamina to deplete quicker. This is a problem because your equipment – your weapons and armor – eats up a lot of that load before you even pick something up.
Our Dragon’s Dogma 2 The guide will explain it to you How to increase your inventoryand also break down how the maximum load system works.
How to increase your inventory in Dragon’s Dogma 2
We will discuss this in more detail below, but to achieve the greatest possible carrying capacity Dragon’s Dogma 2do you have to:
- Make the biggest character you can Character Creator.
- Select the fighter Vocation.
- Eat lots of bugs – viz Golden Trove Beetles.
- Equip one Ring of demarcation
- Unlock the Thew Supplement to the fighter’s vocation.
Let’s break down why each of these measures increases your maximum load and therefore your inventory size.
Be amazed by the character creator
Your character’s initial maximum load is actually set during character creation. That of a character (the same calculation applies to both the Awakened and the Pawns) body weight determines the carrying capacity. If you want to maximize your carrying capacity immediately, make yourself the greatest character possible.
The character creation sliders, which control things like height, muscles, and upper and lower body size, make the biggest contribution here. Make your character tall (the slider has a maximum height of 215 cm) and generally tall with the upper and lower body size sliders. Muscles do not directly change your carrying capacity, but you can increase your body weight by a few kilograms by using them to the maximum. There is a bit of rounding involved in the calculation, so you have some wiggle room for aesthetics if needed.
Muscle alone does not increase your maximum load, but it does increase your body weight. Based on our testing, race (whether you’re playing as a human or animal), gender, and age don’t appear to have an impact on your carrying capacity.
Body weight also determines how quickly your stamina recharges (higher body weight means slower recharge), so there’s a bit of a trade-off between carrying more and breathing easier. Meanwhile, the proximity of your inventory weight to your maximum load will affect how quickly your stamina depletes.
All in all, you can increase your maximum starting weight to around 33kg. And then you can get a little more (or less) depending on your calling.
Choose the profession “Fighter”.
Your calling also contributes (a little) to your maximum burden. From the starting professions, fighter can carry the most, ranger And thieves come second and magician can carry the least. This only adds (or subtracts) a few kilograms, but it can make a big difference.
This actually changes your maximum exposure if you change careers at any point. If you join a professional guild, even if it takes many hours, and change profession from mage to fighter, your maximum load will increase. As you switch from fighter to thief, the value decreases.
You can only change professions in a professional guild or some inns. If you want to increase your maximum load without changing careers, you need to try something different, like…
Eat goldmine beetles
As you explore the world of Dragon’s Dogma 2, you (or your characters) might spot oversized, glowing beetles – usually seen on tree trunks. This Golden Trove Beetles are a consumable item.
If you select one in your inventory and eat This increases your maximum load by 0.15kg. It’s not a lot, but over time you’ll find dozens of bugs, and it adds up.
Equip a Ring of Growth (or two).
You get a larger increase in your maximum load from a device called a Ring of demarcation. Equipping one of these rings will increase your maximum load many times over 5kg. And you can attach one to your right and left hand to achieve a 10kg push.
Rings of Exclusion can be purchased from some merchants – the traveling merchant in Melve has one, as does the armorer in Vernworth – for 6,500 gold. A much cheaper way to get one early is to complete the Ornate Box quest. This will only cost you 800 gold and some of your time.
Unlock and activate the Thew extension
Augments are job skills that you unlock as you rank higher in each job. Unlike weapon skills, enhancements can be used with other professions.
The hunter upgrade to rank 6, Thew, increases your maximum load. Once you unlock it in the Fighter profession, you can apply it to your character no matter what profession you play.
