So you looked at this Stand out TV show on Amazonloved the franchise, maybe saw a few people play Fallout 76, and decided that you would finally install Bethesda’s post-apocalyptic MMO and give it a real chance. But then you tried to play it on PC and found that it runs like garbage. Wait! Before uninstalling it, there is a very easy way Fallout 76 run better.
I recently along with a million other playersreinstalled and started playing Fallout 76 again. However, my first night was spent exploring the online wasteland of 76
First of all, after you have completed the installation Fallout 76, run the game at least once. Now close the game. Then hop over Nexus Mods and download this very small mod This isn’t a mod at all. In fact, it’s just a modified .ini text file that jacks up the framerate, tweaks some settings that can’t be changed in the game, and lowers some settings below what the game normally allows.
Don’t worry, this “mod” doesn’t make the game look ugly or anything. Fallout 76 will still look good; Most of these optimizations just mitigate unimportant things, e.g. B. how far the grass is rendered when playing.
Once you’ve downloaded the file, place it here: Documents\My Games\Fallout 76. You’ll be prompted to overwrite a file. Continue. Then close this folder.
However, before you go ahead and get started Fallout 76 Again, I recommend limiting the game’s frame rate using the GPU settings. Yes, Fallout 76 Still missing an option to select frame rate from the menus.
If you have an Nvidia card like me, open the Nvidia Control Panel. Then go to “Manage 3D Settings”. There you should see a tab for “Program Settings.” You must add Fallout 76
Once you’ve done that, you should be able to open it Fallout 76, And voila, the game should run better! Personally, I had to select “full screen” in the game’s video options and restart the game before I saw any change. So give it a try if you don’t see much of an increase. But once I did, I could play Fallout 76 without it constantly dipping into the mid 40s as I just walk around my camp. The wasteland has never felt so smooth!
