Bungie released one of its silliest, arguably best, rewards ever destiny 2 on Tuesday December 27th. After shooting down a variety of collectibles and fighting your way through the Operation: Seraph’s Shield mission for the umpteenth time, you’ll be able to unlock your own robotic dog to chill in HELM with by activating the Good Boy protocol.
In this guide we will tell you how to unlock this metallic companion and how to unlock the Guardian’s Best Friend triumph, which you need for the title and the seal of the Season of the Seraphs.
How to open the door

As soon as they are done Operation: Seraph’s Shield mission and crafted your own Revision Zero Exotic Pulse Rifle
Once you’ve destroyed all the drones with Revision Zero, you’ll have to backtrack through Operation: Seraph Shield, through the spacewalk, and into the room where you’ll eventually defeat the giant Hive Knight. (If you take the red teleporter to the final boss, you’ve gone too far.)
In the room where you kill the first boss (not to be confused with the room where you caused that same boss to retreat earlier in the mission) you’ll see a door with a bunch of ornate lights and a probe icon on to the left of it. Once the drones are destroyed you can unlock the door. Use your upgrades (or an Eager Edge sword) to bypass the lasers and the locked door and reach the teleporter.
How to get the dog and what you get when you get it
Once you’ve gone through the teleporter, you’ll find yourself in the dark corners of the station. You have to solve a short platforming puzzle with a few different r outes, some of which will kill you while others will teleport you back to the beginning.
However, if you’re not a jumping puzzle type, all you need to know is to follow the right path once you get to the pipe junction and watch out for the red lights. Red lights usually indicate pits you can kill, while white lights show the safer route. (If you want to know exactly how to reach the dog, check out Esoterickk’s great video we linked above.)
Once you get to the mechanical dog, give it a little path and you will unlock the Guardian’s Best Friend triumph. Even better, he’ll teleport to the HELM and hang around in front of the Exo Frame. You can pet him at any time and even choose a tracker on your seasonal emblems that shows how many times you’ve pet the dog.
Typically, seasonal content like Operation: Seraph Shield disappears when Bungie moves into a new expansion year. with incidence of light Released February 28, it is currently unclear what will happen to the mission or the dog in early 2023. We reached out to Bungie to clarify how the HELM would perform after theincidence of light. To be on the safe side, we strongly recommend purchasing Revision Zero and the mechanical pup before February 28th, 2023.
