How to unlock each operator

In line with previous entries, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has a variety of playable characters, so-called operators. This allows you to play with a little personalization while still taking advantage of your valuable asset AK-74 assault rifle (or any other weapon you like). But just like your favorite weapons and gear, you don’t have instant access to every character.

There are a total of 21 Operators to play through Multiplayer and Zombies modes. They are further divided into two opposing factions called Rogue Black Ops and Crimson One, although these distinctions aren’t actually relevant outside of the campaign.

What Black Ops 6 Operators are available at launch

Luckily, there is a wide range of operators to choose from for your first few games. Those who play the standard edition of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be able to specifically deploy eight operators, four of which belong to each faction. Here’s the breakdown of which ones will be available when the game launches:

  • Caine
  • carver
  • Gray
  • Maya
  • Nazir
  • Niran
  • Weber
  • West Point

Anyone using Game Pass will get the standard edition and should start with the above operators. There is also an additional operator for players who have played recently Call of duty Title.

What Black Ops 6 operators can unlock for free

You won’t stick with this initial choice for too long. Eight more operators can be unlocked by simply increasing your player level. This is much easier to track than previous entries, which typically required you to get a certain number of kills over time or within a given match. These are the characters you can unlock over time and the player level you need to reach.

  • Alvarez – Level 7
  • Visit – Level 10
  • Payne – Level 13
  • Rossi – Level 16
  • Bayan – Level 22
  • Bailey – Level 28
  • Marshall – Level 34
  • Stone – Level 40

Which operators are exclusive to the Vault Edition?

For the remaining characters you have to pay a little more money. Five additional Operators are currently available exclusively to the digital-only Vault Edition or the Vault Edition upgrade for those who purchased the Standard Edition. All of them are available immediately, no matter what level you are at. Here are the additional characters currently exclusive to the Vault Edition:

  • eagle
  • Brutus
  • Klaus
  • park
  • Forest

There is a special feature that you may have access to without purchasing the Vault Edition. If you pre-order a digital edition you will receive the Woods Operator Pack, which includes him and three skins.

It’s also possible to access the Woods Operator pack through Game Pass, even if you’re just playing the standard edition included in the subscription. All you had to do was register Call of Duty: Warzone or Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III be available on your Game Pass platform before October 25, 2024. You should be able to use the package and skins as long as you keep your subscription.
