E3 2021 will take place from June 12th to 15th as a newly designed, completely virtual online event. Nintendo, Xbox, Bethesda, Square Enix, Sega, Bandai Namco, Ubisoft, Capcom, and others will be delivering new video game announcements, trailers, release dates, and more.
Icarus, the next game of DayZ Creator Dean Hall’s Rocketwerkz studio launches on August 11th on Steam. In a surprise announcement, the session-based multiplayer survival game won’t be free to play. Instead, the game costs $ 29.99 and is released in chapters. The announcement was made on Sunday during the presentation of the PC Gaming Show and was accompanied by a new trailer
“We didn’t want the business model to affect the gaming experience,” Hall said in a press release. “We have also heard loud and clear from our community that they want to avoid the pitfalls of free-to-play. We want Icarus to keep evolving as a living game and adding new session challenges and game modes. We believe regular chapter and content updates are a great way to deliver this. ”
Icarus puts players in the role of pioneers trying to tame a wild, alien world. The session-based gameplay puts a time limit on each mission and challenges players to collect resources before their ship returns to orbit.
