EA and Koei Tecmo are working together to: a monster hunter-style experience with Wild Hearts, they revealed today. A two-and-a-half-minute debut trailer showcases lush environments, intimidating encounters, and some cool weapons. The game also seems to take cues from Koei Tecmo’s monster hunt Toukiden series originally released on the older generation Vita and PlayStation consoles. The new game is scheduled to be released in February.
That Wild Hearts Reveal trailer teases an untamed world teeming with vicious monsters, in which player characters equip themselves with a variety of armor, swords, and strange magical gadgets that have a distinctive ancient Japanese flair. It features players sneaking up on the beasts in the tall grass, flying over them with cool tech, and generally wreaking havoc on beasts many times their own size. monster hunter Fans will feel at home.
In an exclusive Interview with IGNDirector Kotaro Hirata confirmed the resemblance to the company’s previous monster-hunting series, Toukiden. The experience of creating these games laid the foundation for this Wild Heartsbut Hirata emphasized that the “hunt, the combat system, the world setting and the visual presentation” are unique Wild Hearts.
If you are not familiar with Toukiden, you are probably not alone. Created by Omega Force in 2013, the series premiered on the PSP and the miserably neglected PlayStation Vita in Japan before Tecmo Koei brought it to the US a year later. The sequel switched to an open-world format and was released on PS3, PS4, Vita, and Windows in the mid-2010s. If you were a fan of those games, this could be for you, although the directors have stated that they hope to reach a wider audience this time.
not how ToukidenContinuation, Wild Hearts will use a “zone based system” instead of a fully open world. The game will also feature a three-player co-op mode instead of four, apparently for the sake of balance and the simplicity of not having to find an extra player.

The game has been in development for four years, but as long as everything goes according to plan, you can start hunting monsters in this wild world on February 17th. But on which platforms? That’s currently unknown, although PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC seem like the most likely targets.
