Joker 2 confirmed by director Todd Phillips and star Joaquin Phoenix

The clown prince of crime returns for another solo film. joker Writer and director, wrote Todd Phillips a Photo on Instagram a screenplay cover confirming that he’s working on it joker 2 – or as the script calls it Joker: madness for two.

Along with the script photo of Phillips, he also included a picture of the Joker himself with Joaquin Phoenix reading the script. This seemingly confirms that Phoenix will be back to reprise his role in the 2019 film’s sequel. Also returning for the sequel is Phillips co-writer Scott Silver, whose credit appears on the script for the sequel.

Another unknown for Joker 2 is what exactly the plot might be. The title of the script from Joker: madness for two

is a psychological term referring to to a mental disorder affecting two or more people, usually in the same family. Based on the plot of the first film and the fact that Thomas Wayne could be the Joker’s real father, it’s entirely possible that this film introduces Batman and links him to the Joker with the Folie à Deux idea, suggesting a connection, which is even more than family.

Of course, to know for sure what the film will be about, we’ll have to wait for a bit more information.
