Kingdom Hearts Stans rip all the flesh off the bones the recent Kingdom Hearts IV announcement trailer, by tearing it apart for all sorts of details about Sora’s upcoming adventure. There’s a bit of disappointment that comes with the hype, like the painful revelation that Our hero with the big shoes doesn’t actually have big feet. On the positive side, however, intrepid detective work has yielded compelling results. A self-proclaimed “Square Enix fangirl” named Audrey “aitaikimochi” Lamsam has found the actual apartment in Tokyo that appears to be the basis for the one where Sora wakes up in the trailer. Now the high price has many wondering how the Keyblade Master pays his rent.
In the April 10 reveal trailer, Sora wakes up in a beautiful, minimalist apartment that looks more like an Ikea showroom than the Keyblade Master’s resting place. The game – or at least the sequence we see in the trailer – takes place in an area called the Quadratum, which bears a close resemblance to the real city of Tokyo. So says Aitaikimochi, a Twitch streamer and CEO of the company behind the anime merch site Aitai KujiShe rummaged around to see if there was any real basis for Sora’s apartment. To her surprise, Sora is located in one of the most expensive areas in Tokyo.
“I can’t believe Sora lives here [fucking] Aoyama in Tokyo, one of the most expensive areas to live in Tokyo,” Aitaikimochi tweeted.
She’s not wrong. In subsequent tweets and a live stream posted on the same day as the announcementAitaikimochi discovered that Sora probably lives in South Aoyama and pays about $2,000 in rent. That’s not small change, but perhaps the more frightening number is this: if anyone wanted to”buy this apartmentsaid Aitaikimochi, it would cost about $1.2 million.
my box has reached out to Aitaikimochi and Square Enix for comment.
Since that revelation, fans have taken to social media began to wonder if Sora was paying his own rent
My guess? He’s a Keyblade Master! The whole world owes him for saving their ass countless times. The least they can do is put him somewhere nice. Otherwise Munny was fairly easy to get hold of Kingdom Hearts. I’m sure he just jumped a few Heartless for their wallets.
