Lady Dimitrescu, also known as Tall Vampire Lady or just Big Lady if you’re at a loss for words, may have to get herself a minor nickname post-release that doesn’t refer to her towering height Resident Evil Village‘s first big DLC because Capcom will make them a little shorter.
Resident Evil Village‘s big upcoming DLC collection, collectively referred to as “Winters’ Expansion”, was first announced in June during Capcom’s non-E3 broadcast. In it, players play Rose, the now teenage daughter of protagonist Ethan Winter, to tie up loose ends village‘s story. This lets you play the game’s score attack mode, The Mercenaries, as Chris Redfield, Karl Heisenberg, and Lady Dimitrescu. However, players cannot live vicariously as Lady D when it comes to her canon size in Mercenary mode.
in a (n Interview with igamesnews, Kento Kinoshita, the director of the Winters expansion, revealed that Capcom had to decrease Lady D’s size in order to provide players with a smoother gaming experience. Ready for Lady DummyThicc’s new height? Here we go. Instead of Lady D towering over you at a whopping 9ft 6in, she’ll be a bit shy of 9ft tall. If you can’t handle them in their shortest form, you don’t deserve them in their largest size.

During the development of RE village‘s mercenary mode, Kinoshita said igamesnews that the size of Lady Dimitrescu presented a challenge for developers. Despite the difficulties in translating Lady D’s size into Mercenaries, Kinoshita said that the overwhelming fan response to this element of Lady Dimitrescu’s “large stature” was “too important” not to include in the game mode.
“The Mercenaries require the player to be able to easily control their character, and to allow for that, we adjusted their height to just under 8 feet,” said Kinoshita igamesnews. “At this height, the player just avoids hitting the ceiling.”
