Look, I’ll get straight to the point: Cid von Final Fantasy VII must be a smoker. Yes, smoking is bad for your lungs. And yes, smoking is bad for the environment, and Final Fantasy VII is nothing other than environmentally conscious. But Cid Highwind must smell like an ashtray at all times. However, in every clip and image we’ve seen of him so far, he doesn’t have a cigarette in his hand or mouth. Now in the original Final Fantasy VII, Cid always had the thing with him, no matter what happened. Its game model, its sprite, and its official artwork all have tobacco burning somewhere in view.
