Max Payne 1 & 2 Remakes by Remedy, Rockstar for PS5, PC, Xbox

Remedy Entertainment returns to the Max Payne franchise. The studio announced on Wednesday that there is a remake Max Payne and Max Payne 2: The Case of Max Payne in coordination with Rockstar Games.

“Max Payne has always held a special place in the hearts of everyone at Remedy, and we know the same goes for millions of fans around the world,” said Tero Virtala, CEO of Remedy press release

. “We’re thrilled to once again be working with our partners at Rockstar Games to have the opportunity to bring the story, action and atmosphere of the original Max Payne games back to players in new ways.”

Remedy and Rockstar have teamed up to create Max Payne 2where the original editor Gathering of Developers left off after the original Max Payne. Rockstar Games took over the development of Max Payne 3released in 2012, self.

and Max Payne 2 will be released as a single standalone title on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and will have a similar budget to Remedy’s other AAA projects, according to the press release. The remakes will use Remedy’s own Northlight engine, the technology that powers them quantum fracture and steering.

There’s no word yet on when the remakes might be released, but the project appears to be in the “concept development phase.”
