The Marvel Cinematic Universe has found its Galactus. The planet-eating villain will make his MCU debut the upcoming one Fantastic Four Movie, Premiere next year. Final Fantasy XVI Fans will immediately recognize his voice as Ralph Ineson, the actor behind Cidolfus “Cid” Telamon, has officially secured the role.
The Hollywood Reporter confirmed the cast on May 9, revealing that Ineson will star alongside Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn and Ebon Moss-Bachrach The fantastic Four when the film is released on July 25, 2025. Ineson tweeted about joining the Marvel Cinematic Universeand said, “World-devouring cosmic villain, huh? I’ll see what I can do.” So it sounds like he’s up for the challenge.
Ineson has had a career spanning decades, but lately people are likely to recognize him for his role as Cid in FFXVI, who was considered a standout in a game full of outstanding performances. He also voiced Lorath Nahr Diablo IV last year.
It is unclear what level of seriousness the villain Galactus will have The fantastic Four. Given the threat he inherently poses to the entire planet, I’m curious to see how the film reduces him to the point where the rest of the heroes in the MCU no longer step in to help the titular quartet and give them the opportunity to to lead their own lives, their own film. But this is an exposition problem the series has had for years, introducing new heroes who didn’t help fight Thanos Infinity War And Endgame. Or indeed, why no one else showed up to save the Earth The Eternals. So we’ll see what they do with it when the film comes out next year.
The next film in the MCU is Deadpool and Wolverinewhich will bring Hugh Jackman back as Wolverine after he left that X Men Series in 2017, following Logan. Marvel suits were I’m doubtful he’ll even come back, given the high note he left the character on seven years ago. But now he and Deadpool actor Ryan Reynolds get to play a better team-up between the characters than X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
