For many years Mechwarriors 4 provided a sample of its destructive power on PC, back in 2000. Piranha Games has managed to resurrect this series inspired by the BattleTech universal and find a home in the Epic Games Store, as a special PC. The fruits are Mechwarrior 5: Mercenaries we tested almost.
This goes to the point. He heads for a polite group who is fighting for revenge against the organization that killed your father. But you cannot go directly to those responsible, powerful and you are nothing more than a weeping child with a few soldiers. Before it can be easy to get muscle tissue based on agreements.
After a brief tutorial where you learn the basic rules of navigation in a battlefield, you get completely into the first chapter, which works both to know the plan and to understand the power and plans of Mechwarrior. -a, purchase in the market or get pilots playing neck for you One of these plans is the cost, which is measured on time and during game days and game fees.
The world of the game is so great, that at first it offers a little intimidation. Research has worked hard to highlight what's important, but you can get lost in a sea of information like this. And he always talks about playing, because when you get into a Third World War with each local team, you get dizzy. For us it has become too big and we have lost our taste lately so we can only give ourselves a fight. The general tone built to summon the protagonist is not helpful.
When you think of gameplay, you have to think about your wickets. These robots are powerful, but they also receive combat damage and need to be repaired; that is, more money and more days spent. They are very well equipped with machines and colors or you can buy high-quality weapons, but the important thing is that they are not in a bad state when they have to go to war.
When they are ready it is when they launch the mission, which range from defending the area to loading a specific target. Each takes place in an open but limited part of the map, and along the way you can create as much destruction as you see fit: slim towns, forests, launching lasers and arrows or what you decide to equip to create chaos. You can end up with a multi-room building with a single attack.
The goal is difficult to control the ropes because there is a button to move the other back, in addition to the bulls and legs controlled independently. This design works to provide greater power and freedom of movement, but it forces you to connect your head and hands properly: one part is controlled by the mouse and the other with the keyboard keys. Plus there's all the shooting, both advanced and extra weapons, and some buttons. It takes a while to catch it, but it's finally available.
As you have surrendered, your powers are monsters and the game is responsible for making you feel. Not only is it his ability to load half a ladder with poles and sticks, he also holds an achicharra enemy tanks with a laser and launches into a rival wickets. It's good to shoot an arrow at the enemy's head, as if you were a contender in a Michael Bay movie.
The game loses a little rhythm when you return to the ship to recount what you have won on your robot journey. Arrangements, accounts, interviews and other NPC letters, arrangements for later travel … It's as if you have fieldwork and office work. In fact, it is even necessary to negotiate insurance and compensation, as if it were a contractor's company (that euphemism used to call Western mercenaries in real life). There are many things to do, and that may be more or less depending on whether the person in charge wants a large or small race.
Everything has an end, and those AI-controlled pilots have their own use in battle. The game is so deep that everyone has their own math and skills, as well as cost. And that along with the fact that you're the one who made the wick go to fight, leads to a wealth of curiosity. It can be done with someone in real life, because it includes the option to invite a friend and play together.
Mechwarrior 5 is flawed and its difficulty is flawed. It takes a short time to be a difficult game: because it requires constant flexibility to not be an easy target, and coupled with the complexity of its controls and character limits, it becomes a hodgepodge. When you have another giant robot in front of you, you no longer have the courage and the extra energy, and you have the energy savings of what repairs will cost you later. We think it should be repaired on both sides, perhaps lowering prices a bit, because that's not as exciting as it might be.
All of this has left mixed feelings. Battles, however complex, are very cool and make you feel like you really have that metal beast on your hands. But the staples that fueled the narrative and the cost structure were not to our liking. There is a good foundation, so Piranha Games is in its hands to keep fixing it until it gets to the key. At the moment it's a great game with the potential to be very good.
