How improvements work in Minecraft Legends

In Minecraft Legends, Upgrades are structures you build at the Well of Destiny that unlock all sorts of upgrades. From collecting new types of resources to improving your building or gathering skills, improvements are an important part of your experience in the campaign.

Whenever you are at the Well of Destiny, you can open the Songbook to see all the upgrades available. Some show up in your hotbar by default, but you can switch between them from the songbook menu.

A few tips: The first time you get a gathering upgrade, you’ll receive a small amount of it as a freebie. In addition, unlocking improvements will cause the resource to appear in village chests or chests around the world. This can be useful for materials like Redstone or Diamonds, as these tend to be difficult to find and generally come in small batches.

As such, below is a suggested order of what you should unlock first, although your priorities may differ depending on your playstyle.

Here are the best Minecraft Legends Select improvements first:

Improvement: Relieve bearing

Requirements: 100 stone, 100 prismarine, 10 gold

This upgrade increases the amount of resources you can carry. In other words, you can build more structures and spawn more mobs than you can by default.

From there, each additional Allay Storage upgrade you place allows you to carry +500 Wood, +500 Stone, +150 Lapis, +150 Prismarine, and +150 Gold. But just having one will already make a difference, and you can move on to other, more urgent improvements.

Improvement: Collect Coal

Requirements: 100 Stone, 100 Prismarine

If you follow the campaign you will get the improvement to gather iron. However, don’t overlook the ones for charcoal. There are many places in the overworld to collect it and you’re bound to stumble upon it often.

Having a significant amount of Coal will always come in handy, especially as it is the resource that allows you to summon Creepers, which are a helpful unit due to their explosive nature. Remember that you must first interact with and rescue the Creeper Homestead after it has been occupied by Piglins.

Improvement: Collect Redstone

Requirements: 100 Stone, 100 Prismarine

Redstone is helpful for many structures, starting with the Redstone Launcher, and it’s definitely worth prioritizing. In addition, the upgrade introduces a chance for chests in Swim and Allay chests to drop Redstone.

This upgrade also allows you to summon zombies. Remember that to do this you must first interact with the Zombie Homestead and rescue it after it has been occupied by Piglins.

Improvement: Banners

Requirements: 100 stone, 100 prismarine, 25 gold

Before you start recruiting more mobs, you need to increase your banner. This upgrade adds +15 mobs that can rally with your hero, and each additional upgrade you build adds +15. Initially, having one is enough, but if you have the resources to spare, the more the better.

This particular naming in Minecraft Legends can be quite confusing. In short, increasing your banner capacity allows for more people in your party, so to speak. This means gathering your spawn mobs and then recruiting some animals or other units along the way. If you want to increase as many mobs as you can spawnHowever, you need the following improvement.

This upgrade is crucial. Once you’ve got yourself a sizeable pool of units and resource types to draw from, it’s nice to be the first to wake up. These are golems that you can find around the map that require a significant amount of gold to activate.

That being said, they are among the most powerful units in Minecraft Legends. They will take up a spot of your banner units, and when they die you can recall them from the nearest village or the Well of Doom.

others like Professional carpentry are useful, but you don’t really need to prioritize it over others, especially in the first few hours of the campaign. In the first few days of the game you will have enough resources to defend villages during night attacks anyway, since the sieges will not be too complex to withstand them.

The same applies to Plenty of allays. You can keep this at the bottom of your list as it’s primarily building focused. Being able to gather more resources at once is a useful mechanic, but again, you don’t need to worry too much about speed until you’re in the middle or near the end of the campaign. If anything, use multiple collection routes instead of just one in the same area. This will speed up the process and once they’re all done, they’ll automatically return to you to use again.
